PRINCE ROWAN'S POV Could this day get any worse. I sigh in frustration as I avert my eyes from the young girl who has just been dragged in front of the stage and look at the guards waiting for an explanation. The four guards step back to allow an older woman to step forward. I recognize her immediately.She is the mother of my mate. I don't know why I actually call the girl my mate, because she is not. We have no mate bond, but everyone including my parents think we are meant to be since she is the only other angel in the land and I'm just being ignorant and unloving.

My lips stretch into a smile as he mentioned a friend and they have no communication so it seems harmless even though the trauma from my past is hunting me over trusting any son of Adam with the opposite gender. “Hello I'm Angel, nice to meet you.” my hands stretched forward for a handshake but reluctantly she took it like it burned her with a fake dirty ass smile which was over before it touched her lips. Her arms coiled back around his shoulder as she snuggled closer towards his tall frame, he didn't seem to mind as he let her. I shrugged. “Maria finally kicked me out.” Angel snorted. “I knew it. That slimy boyfriend of hers probably pushed her into it.”

She’s been working hard lately, and I didn’t want to add to her burden. "You sure? You’ve been working a lot. I can take back the work if it’s too much," I offered. "Cassie, I’m more than fine. I’m healthy and kicking. By the way, do you know that friend of my brother’s with brown hair—tall, around 6 feet, with a very nice smile and lovely brown eyes? I haven’t seen such a handsome and gentle-looking guy in a while," Angel said, her cheeks flushing. It seemed love was in the air!
