Still herself. He lifted his eyes. Wings. Not an illusion. Not an afterimage. Not power leaking uncontrolled into a shape. These were formed. Chosen. White-gold fire unfurled behind her shoulders in a vast, deliberate span. Each wing rose from just below her shoulder blades, emerging cleanly from the lines of her back as if they had always belonged there. They did not tear her shape apart or overwhelm it. They completed it.

“West wing. Third floor. Section twelve. Look for the silver spine editions, Old World Ritual Compacts and Divine Bonding Theories.” Auren bowed slightly in thanks, turned, and padded away like some kind of sexy, barefoot academic god. The man moved like gravity didn’t fully apply to him. His wings were still out, tucked in loosely but massive and gorgeous, brushing bookshelves as he passed. Riven muttered under his breath, “Damn showoff,” but grinned like he meant the opposite. Kael just shook his head. “We’re in a throuple with a literal angel. What even is our life?”

It took Avas breath away. “It’s amazing,” she said, not being able to take her eyes of it. “Do you like it?” Zane asked. “I love it,” she told him. Se traced one of the wings with her finger. “They are made out of platinum, strong and resilient, just like my angel,” he told her. “If you let me put this on you, it will be a symbol showing you belong to me, this will be my brand and you may not take it off unless I take it off or I tell you to do it.” Zane paused and Ava let the words sink in. She wanted to wear the necklace; she wanted it with a passion which surprised her. “Will you let me put it on you?” he then asked.

Finally his hand stopped on what appeared to be a very thin, short,flimsy blade. “Out of all the tools I have in this bag, this one right here, this flimsy little blade is the most effective in torturing this little angel. You see Daniel, Marcus and Lucian are more angel than demon. So I make sure I keep my angel blade sharp. This seemingly harmless thing is actually one of the only things that can kill an angel. The second being Lucifer's sword of course.” Azazel explained as he walked closer to where Marcus’ body hung. Marcus braced himself, and closed his eyes. Daniel looked over at Elizabeth, “Can your wings fly?” He mouthed. She nodded, letting them fall.

Her eyes, they shine with a crisp silver glow, captivating and illuminating the surrounding space. I can’t help but envy her perfect complexion, stressing her exquisite facial features. It’s clear that she is the divine offspring of God, the creator of all things, and Selene, the creator of all shifters. But what steals my breath away are her wings, almost translucent yet radiating with neon hues. They span several yards in each direction, reaching above her head and cascading down to her ankles, a mesmerizing sight that leaves me in awe.

Zachary glanced at me. Instead of getting mad, he scrutinized me apathetically. Wynnie, who was beside him, suddenly said, "Mr. Lowe, Yas has shown talent as a pilot since she was young. She got her license when she was 18. At 22, she has already outperformed many experienced pilots. She's made it this far through her own efforts." Wynnie's voice was as gentle as her smile in the photo from 20 years ago.

Chapter 12: Bella Risa looks at the tall man with blue eyes. A pair of sharp blue eyes, watching me. Bella Risa released another powerful move, her swords pointed at the position of his chest. Zhuang! With the sound of swords clashing, Bella Risa crouched under his arm. She leaned closer to him from behind. A sword was placed on Raph Conrad's shoulder. Bella Risa laughed out loud: "How is it, General, this move of mine is very special."

He picks me up and I securely lock my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. "Keep your eyes closed. I don't need you getting sick." he simply states. He takes us through the doorway and back onto the ledge before jumping as his large black wings unfurl from his back and spread out, nearly touching my arms. I feel as we soar up into a mist of pure darkness and manage to catch a glimpse of Levi before shutting my eyes and burying my face in his neck. His arms stay securely around me, holding me against him as we fly so fast it nearly takes my breath away.

Max and Kendra were quick to defend Alina, always coming to her rescue but I had a feeling she didn't really need it. My mother was beautiful, a yellow glow shining of her wings. They were pure white but shimmered as they caught the rays of the sun. My mother had to wear a dress with a deep back so she could have her wings out. Every female angel had to wear something similar to that to accommodate their wings because they obviously couldn't fly half-naked. Her wings were slightly bigger than her, the ends touching the ground.

“You have crumbled my wing!” Angela stood up from the thing and helped it up. “I am sorry I did not mean to hurt you but…” Angela got cut from her words when she raised her head and looked at all the winged beings in her front. There were dozens of them. She did not believe what she was seeing. “What the…” she asked herself taking her eyes from one-winged being to another. They were beautiful but strange. They had different weird-looking hairstyles, clothes, colors of eyes, skin, and hair…everything was weird about them but the butterfly wings they had on their body was what really wowed her.
