Long, midnight-black hair cascaded down her back, contrasting sharply with her translucent, pale skin. Her eyes glowed with a faint, predatory crimson light. But it was the structures protruding from her shoulder blades that drew every eye: two massive, feathered wings unfolded into the gale, as dark and heavy as a starless midnight.
