I slap my forehead. “I’m such an idiot, oh gosh. I’m such an idiot.” Cameron reaches out for me, but an overly drunk Angela pulls him away. My panic now turns to fear. Oh shit! What if she saw, will she want to fight? I can’t fight. I’m not that scrappy. Like, I’m fit and I’m sure I could throw a punch, but oh dear, I’m having a panic attack. My eyes close and I try some breathing exercises. After a minute, I open my eyes and I see Cameron is now a few people over from me dancing with Angela as if he wasn’t just obliterating my entire being with simple, sweet kisses.

Aurora smiled. "This is the amusing part. Angie constantly tells others that they shouldn't think novels are real, but then she does just that. She insults the female lead, the author, and readers with different opinions. She slanders people and has no sense of decency or intelligence. Angie's double standards are almost like severe schizophrenia. I want to take her to see a doctor, but she's very resistant." Theodore sighed. "She really isn't in a good mental state."

I walked out of the office, locking the door behind me. “What would you like to have for lunch, sir?" Angela asked me the moment I got into the living room. "I'm okay.” I replied. I started going upstairs, taking the stairs two at a time. Food is the last thing on my mind. I really need to come up with something. I have different ideas running around in my head. I need the most effective one to tackle this. An idea suddenly struck in my head. It's basically the only thing that can effectively make the whole thing die down. The only thing is that it would involve Anastasia.

That would be too gross and I'm so close to the edge of reason that would be the last straw. I'm doing my best to keep it together and I'm quaking with anger. He probably thinks it's from fear, what an fucking idiot. We just stand there waiting for his next order like a group of weak submissive females. I feel so dirty and murderous at the same time. “I would never hurt you and you know that.” “I believe you,” he murmured, his gaze holding mine captive. “So explain to me why you think you were responsible for nearly killing me.” A sigh slipped from my lips. “I was angry earlier that you had stabbed yourself and when I was heading towards the door, I imagined strangling you.” “Oh,” he murmured, understanding dawning in his gaze. “You know I would never do that, right? I imagined something like that thinking that no harm was going to be done. People imagine crazy stuff when they are angry. It doesn't mean they are going to do them.”

And now, with Axel’s condition, she cannot risk his life. Rebecca scoffed softly. “Stop living like a ghost. If you keep living like this, hiding, suffocating yourself in fear, you will never escape it. Your past already took enough from you. Don’t let it steal your present too.” She crossed her arms. “It’s just a party, Angela, not a battlefield. Stop punishing yourself because of some scumbag who doesn’t even deserve your fear.” Angela let out a slow breath, cupping the back of her neck as she looked at them, conflicted. “You both don’t understand…” she whispered.
