I use a cane to support myself now. The way he looks at me makes me uncomfortable. It's like he recognizes me. - You are an alpha? – he asks, frowning. - I was one, long time ago, now I'm just an old man. I see the turbines turning in Angel's head. I had to act fast. - What is your name?- he asks, and I sigh. I want to do this away from here, but he has already identified me. - My name is Jack. Angel gets up as if he had springs in the ass, and pointing his finger at me, he says:

~ Tina POV ~ "Ma'am, another drink?" The cocktail waitress leaned over my shoulder, her voice cutting through the casino's relentless chiming and clicking. I didn't look up from the blackjack table. Couldn't. My hands were shaking too badly, and I needed them steady for the next hand. "Whiskey. Double." The cards blurred in front of me. Twenty-three thousand down in two hours. Jesus Christ, Tina. What are you doing?

Kenji began introducing the men at the table one by one. All of them owned big companies and had a high net worth. Kenji then asked, "What would you like to start with, buddy?" "Anything works. Your call," Wilbur replied calmly. Kenji nodded with a smile. "Let's go with blackjack, then. It's an easy game. Are you alright with that, buddy?" "Of course! I like blackjack too." Kenji waved a hand, and two bodyguards brought four boxes over at once. They opened them and put them on the table. All the boxes were filled with cash.

She felt naked without her gun. "Blackjack is not gambling, Harper," Sebastian leaned heavily on his cane, adjusting his bowtie. His face was pale, but his eyes were razor-sharp. "It is a statistical probability distribution. And right now, the probability of us starving is 100%." "So let's change the odds." He offered her his arm. "You are the player. I am the... eccentric uncle." "Listen to my voice. Do exactly what I say." [The Table] They sat at a high-stakes Blackjack table. The dealer was a man with a gold tooth and dead eyes. "Minimum bet is fifty," he grunted.

Bohdan replied. “Poker requires skill. I can bluff my way into a win every time. You can’t bluff your way into a blackjack.” “Touché’, but that’s the game I choose, take it or leave it.” Preacher Jack hesitated because he had no choice but to give in. “Fine, Blackjack it is.” “Get the cards and we’ll play. How soon can you get a deck?” “I’ll need something to trade,” Preacher Jack replied. “What’s worth a deck of cards down here?”

“Place your bets. Minimum is one million dollars.” A pause. “And a reminder—no splits allowed. Your opening bet is one of only two chances to raise your stake. The other is double down. And aces count as eleven—so blackjack is within easy reach.” Stefan glanced at me. “One million?” I nodded. No reason to go higher—not yet. I watched Stefan enter the amount on the screen in front of us. Across the room, the other booths did the same. The host began dealing, moving from booth to booth with practiced ease.

I cannot bear to lose this match. Taking a glance at his surroundings, he was about to put his fingers under his sleeve to pull out the card, deceiving the others, when suddenly Shadow put the ace card and the face card on the table, in front of her opponent. "Blackjack" Shadow declared as she gazed at her opponents who seemed to be thunderstruck. Jace gasped at the unexpected loss. Never did he guess that his best friend would lose a match against an assassin. "Now it's given that Weylin Turner will merge his business with Blake Turner," the old master's face beamed with joy. Turning towards his subordinate, he smiled. "Well done, Shadow! I am so proud of you."

Blackjack rules were simple and many relied on luck, especially those low-tier players. For high-tier players, it was a game of technique and mind games. The surprising thing was that once Buffy sat down at the blackjack table, she became a titan and beat all the men. Half an hour later, all the men who thought they were professionals lost everything. They got embarrassed and angry but Buffy remained calm and composed, not flinching one bit. Judging from her relaxed demeanor, she must have held back from the beginning, or else the men would have lost even more.

When the dealer revealed his second card—nine of hearts—and Ray revealed his cards—king of spades and eight of diamonds— Zayne proudly placed his three cards on the table—king of hearts, two of hearts, and jack of clubs. “This time I win. My total is 20, Mr. Ray has 18, and Mr. Zayne has 22.” “Isn’t my total higher?” Zayne interrupted. The dealer slapped his forehead. The entire room burst into laughter, calling Zayne an idiot. Cold sweat ran down his forehead as the atmosphere crushed him further. Sebastian, standing nearby, silently urged him to just give up and find another way to get Elmy back. “Mr. Zayne, in blackjack, any total over 21 is an automatic loss,” the dealer explained, barel

said Aranjo, she doesn't want her new friend to get into trouble. "Sure!" replied the Emperor. Then with his magic power, a sizable peach appeared above the emperor's grasp. The emperor stretched out his hand holding a peach before Aranjo. "That for me?" asked Aranjo while gazing questioningly at the Emperor. Aranjo never accepts gifts from anyone other than her caregiver, Ara. The emperor nodded, then Aranjo took the fruit. The little bird wrapped in her black veil was on the lap. Aranjo split the peach into several pieces, although she was very thirsty and hungry, but the first piece Aranjo gave to the little bird.
