The wet grass brushed my ankles, sending a cool, wet sensation. "Oh my." I nearly collided with Zerikyu's back. The man always stopped abruptly. But this time, his mouth was silent. I tilted my head to find a black rabbit sprawled out, its fur matted, its body frozen from the bite of something much larger. There was no blood to be seen, only traces of a violent struggle on the ground. "AH." My pupils absorbed the rabbit carcass, entering my subconscious. Suddenly, the world around me shrank. I don't know what happened, but my bones ached. It felt like an invisible hand was squeezing my nerves, twisting them into a single, vibrating thread.

She seemed to be full every time the men left. When I took water into Rebecca's room, I noticed her face glowing, and her tummy had grown bigger too. "Everly, come look! This is the bloodstone I'm growing. It'll come out in another month. After Mom sells it for a good price, we'll be living the high life!" I touched Rebecca's tummy and felt something move under the skin. I drew my hand back with a start. "Rebecca, is being a rabbit-woman really that great?" I couldn't help but ask. "Mom gave me a pouch of spices yesterday and told me to let it burn as I slept."

She is safe. But on the dresser, a new rabbit. White. Pure white. Tied with a black ribbon, precisely, almost elegantly. It sits among Eleanor's things, a mockery of innocence, a reminder that nowhere is safe. It is smaller than the first rabbit, more delicate, as if chosen with care. I pick it up. The fur is soft. Too soft. A note is attached, folded once, the edges sharp. I unfold it. The handwriting is different from Margaret's. Different from Patricia's. Sharp. Precise. Cold.

He heard his father resorted with frustration in his voice. “Dear, you shouldn’t be here. Go back to your room.” His mother hurriedly whispered when she noticed him listening to their conversation. “Wait, did you just say men in black?” Hyde resorted when he came back to his senses. His companion didn’t speak but answered him with a mere nod. “Oh, and one more thing, she also said that one of them has some kind of black bird tattoo on the neck.” Hyde was stunned when he heard about the tattoo. He’s certain, that the deceased man was one of them—or just a scapegoat.

‘Get away from that thing ivory’ Anita warned in ivory’s head. ‘I thought I said I wouldn’t talk to you until you tell me the truth’ ivory said ignoring Anita’s warning. She smiled at the rabbit and stretched out her hands. ‘Come on, there’s nothing to be scared of’ she reassured. The rabbit moved closer to her carefully, suddenly it jumped on her and scratched her arm; she looked at the rabbit then her arm in surprise. The rabbit opened it mouth, she could see its long canines. ‘What the fuck!’ she exclaimed. Not wasting time she removed her sword from its sheath and chopped of its head.

Ansel snaps through gritted teeth. “He told me that a moon rabbit’s fur can’t be stained or colored by anything - not mud, paint, or even the creature’s own blood. Only two things can leave their mark on a moon rabbit pelt: the blood of a murdered werewolf, or silver.” Nash is watching me intently, wondering where I’m going with this. So is the rest of the pack. I can feel all eyes on me. “Ansel, Amanda, everyone else, can you tell me - is there any discoloration on this?”

as she cherishes the bunny. “So, you must take care of him.” Samantha was behind her, she gave me a smile. She knows that I went out again of the laboratory with unsuccessful results. A seven-year failure. "You will stay here with us, ok?" Athena whispered to her rabbit. An innocent child wants to have a companion to her prison. I think she wants her new friend to be kept in this room just like us. Athena has never been outside of this room, but that didn't stop her to grow up from being a happy child.

“Fuck you, Nyx.” “Oh, hush. You were always so dramatic.” Something flickers beside me. A shape that I recognize. Small and white, fading in and out of existence like rapid pulses. “Bubbles?” I whisper. The rabbit flickers into full form for a breath, her ears flattened, fur standing on end, eyes glowing faintly gold. Then she vanishes again. Nyxara rolls her eyes. “Oh, for the love of the old gods, stay still, sister. You’re giving me a headache.”

Ambrose said with a blank face. "Put the rabbit down," I said slowly and laughed nervously. There was something different in his eyes. his usual bright green eyes were dark, almost black. "Ambrose let the rabbit go," I said again when he didn't listen to me the first time. I nearly screamed as Amber suddenly grabbed the rabbit's neck and I heard the sickening cracking sound. The rabbit lay limp in his hand as he had snapped its neck in half. "What the hell? What did you do that for?" I cried.
