I see the guy who’s supposed to pick me up standing at the edge of the tarmac. Tall, broad, dressed in black, and wearing sunglasses that don’t hide the fact that he’s one of Arkyn’s men. He gives me a short nod before walking over, tossing a black bag my way. “Sorry, Alpha’s orders,” he mutters. “Blindfold goes on. It’s the only way to the Vega pack.”

Her arms loaded down with bags that she had refused to let Annie carry. With a sigh, Annie sat down, her hands coming to her lower back as she tried to soothe the tense muscles. The sound of a bird’s wing flapping in the quiet night air pulled her attention away from her aching muscles as she studied the large black crow. Its blue black wings settled into place. She had always loved the colors that crows seemed to have. It landed on one of the streetlights that lit the sidewalks. She couldn’t help but notice that it was much larger than most crows she had seen.

Both of us stared in astounded shock as a large black bird slid slowly down the windshield, leaving a smear of crimson blood along the crack in the glass. “Is that… a crow?” I gasped, unable to believe my eyes. “No,” Ben said, his voice much more steady than mine. “It’s a raven.”

Wobbling on the floor, he didn’t even avoid him grabbing his collar and pushing him back. Bang! Amino hit the wall hard. The sheath on his back dug into his skin. We needed to know what it looked like on the other side so we could get there but without knowing we had no way in. Before we reacted to do anything, the roof on the far end of the cave opened up. There were two teenagers and a bald man who exited the jet with the black-haired man. I recognised the bald man from the mall when I was with Jack and Ashton, when I had a feeling that we were being followed.
