Queenie Joker opens my door for exactly ten minutes. He is efficient, and even though that normally would please me. I pour another drink, hoping the burn of the bourbon will calm me down. The first one has done nothing to calm the rage I feel. The asshole moves closer to me, and that damn mark on his neck taunts me once more. It taunts me as I think of all the reasons she must be better than me. I grip my glass tight, and before I know it, I let my anger win as I launch it at his head.

(Am I clear? (Crystal.) I mutter between my teeth. (Good Girl.) He says and lets my chin go. (Can you at least tell me who you are and what do you want?) I say. (My name is Austin and as for what I want, well money of course.) He says and, smirk. (Okay Austin, if money is what you want then give me a phone and I’ll call my mate, he is an alpha and can pay you good as long as you do harm me or our pups.) I say trying to negotiate.

He seemed like he needed help, but he still held onto the pride of his family with all his might. Harvey York burst out laughing before showing a serious look on his face. “Alright, Fabian. I’m done joking around. “Be honest with me, is the person you’re gambling against a tough one?” “He is, but we should be able to handle him…” Fabian went silent for a long while before saying those words. But after he did not hear Harvey’s response, he bitterly chuckled. “Right. I’ll be honest. He’s really tough. “He came three times already. He only plays three rounds every time to determine the overall winner. The game is Blackjack.

I said as I pointed at Jenna, whose eyes widened in surprise when she heard my words. “Ah, haha! I like it already. Let us play Blackjack!” BlackJack? My facial expression contorted slightly. Why that game? I have never won that game before. Is this a pre-game jinx? I looked at Daniel, who appeared to be very confident. I just could not give up. It is better to fail honorably than to back out cowardly. “Sure!” I smiled despite my inner turmoil. The dealer dealt us our cards, and I looked at mine. I had a 9 of hearts and a 5 of diamonds, for a total of 14.

I jerked my attention back to her reply. "Yep. It's like normal everyday Blackjack, but if you lose, you really lose. Like an article of clothing." "Huh." My head was spinning a little. I hadn't had sex in a long time, and I'd had just enough to drink tonight that even if my judgment was slightly impaired, my performance wouldn't be. "Do you think this is a good idea?" A wicked smile curved her tempting lips. "I think it's the best idea ever." She reached for the cards again, gave them a perfunctory shuffle, and then dealt the first hand: one card each face-down, one card each face-up.

A rival syndicate had just handed her a loaded gun. She snatched her phone and hit speed dial. "Thorne, wake the hell up." "Talk to me," Aris Thorne’s groggy voice came through. "I just got handed the Takahashi payroll," Moss said, starting the ignition. "From who?" "Anonymous drop on my windshield," Moss traced a finger down the column of numbers. "Someone just threw a ghost ledger into my lap." "Is it legit?" Thorne asked, his tone sharpening. "The routing numbers match your Cayman data perfectly," Moss confirmed, throwing the car into gear. "The dates line up right with Kenji’s arrest. The Japanese syndicate bought our entire municipal bench, Thorne. Every single one of them. You want to

Stella froze for a moment before reaching out stiffly. She picked up the top document with a dismissive look, clearly assuming it was just a bluff. However, the next second, her expression changed instantly. The disdain vanished, replaced by shock. Her pupils shrank. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. "How… how is this possible…? "How do you have this many shares?" Hudson rushed forward, snatching the documents from her hands. "Impossible! This has to be fake!" He shouted, "You're lying! Damon, how could you possibly have this kind of money? These shares… these clearly…"

Andrew pulled out a pair of jokers from his deck of cards, and the maids shook their heads. He laid down his remaining seven cards. "Six, seven, eight, nine, ten, jack, and queen. I win." He extended his hand. "Pay up."

"I haven't seen this face..." "Lot of people come here so you don't expect to know everybody." She cut him off rather sharply. "I'm Makayla." She introduced. He didn't take his eyes off her. "Knox Argento." "Yeah I know. Do you mind if I play a game with only you?" He chuckled softly and nodded his head in agreement. "Only if..." "I got my condition big guy." She interrupted, snickering. "Stack the deck with cards and let the blackjack begin."

she yelled after me. I walked into the kitchen to see Blake standing in front of the sink, his hands soapy up to his forearms as he dipped them back into the sink. He had on a tight white tee that showed off his rippling back muscles as he moved around the kitchen. My tongue darted out to wet my lips and I gulped at the sight. I stalked over to him, making sure to be quiet so he wouldn't notice and grabbed his ass, making him jerk in fright.
