She nods, “They did.” I suppress my laughter, my lips curving into a smirk. Bonnie was manipulative, a snake that concealed the venom on her tongue behind a sweet and innocent demeanour. Ma Cherie wouldn’t play victim like this; she wouldn’t be able to mask her true emotions. The disdain would harden her features, heat flourishing in those clear orbs while her body remained composed under the intensity.
