ASHINA’S POV To my utmost surprise, my mind was suddenly beyond my control. What was happening to me? I called out to Nyx but didn’t get any reply. Perhaps because of the drink we had consumed at the party, it drowsed Nyx as well. It made sense; if I was unable to stand on my feet, so was she. Nonetheless, I was kind of worried. Now these flashes and the heat rising in me was driving me nuts. She is the main actress in many movies made by Art Trading Corporation, and she is making a lot of money from it as well.

But I prefer my life. Mia raised her hands and then she stepped back slowly. Adrian did not respond. He looked back at Aniya whose face was getting paler. The hand was trying to reach Adrian. With that, he pushed her to the ground but she barely fell. She just sat there and drove her gaze to me for which I saw tears pouring out of her eyes. It broke me and I started to shake my head in my refusal of her being infected too, but before I could sufficiently focus on that, my gaze was called to the Dark One again. I saw him standing beside Anita now— his daughter. Knowing his intention I was shocked and traumatized by the sight before her and I immediately started to express these emotions.

“W—What—” Anna tried to pull her hand away, but before she could free herself she felt currents flowing from the device that Aiden holds to her arm across to her entire body. It was shock. She fell numb first. Paralyzed, Anna collapsed. Everything around her became silent, and there’s this annoying sound on her ears that wouldn’t stop. It was buzzing, and each second, it was getting terrible and much worst. She couldn’t move, and her consciousness are slowly slipping away. Aiden knelt down. He gave her an awkward smile, “I hope you won’t resent me this much, but it’s nothing personal. Somehow, well all need a paycheck, Anna…”

After some steps my legs gave out and I stumbled again, Ayan stopped me from falling again and in a second he was holding me bridal style. I wanted to protest but the dizziness took over me and I passed out.
