Both of us weren’t expecting my move, so I hastily placed my palms on the wheel and started the car. “Thank you,” Tina said after a few moments. “And what did our father say to spoil your evening?” She was smart, I would give her that. Often, my step-sister acted like she was shallow, as many popular kids seemed, but I guess it was a mask, a way to fit in. “Annabeth left the town,” I stated coldly, my eyes on the road. “She did? But why?” I heard Tina’s child-like voice beside me. “I have no idea, but it is strange. I felt no indications she might do that. On the contrary, she seemed eager to make connections…and to get closer with me. She was helping with this stalker thing.”
