Anne Perry's Christmas Stories Novels & Stories

“I did say that I’d never work a weekend night-shift again, honey. But Christmas is coming, and I want to save up a bit extra this year.” “Why?” Sarah asked. “Have you got something special planned?” “Maybe,” Annie said, trying to sound mysterious, even as she realized that she now had to come up with a special Christmas present or event. Goddammit, lying was a spiral, wasn’t it, one that just kept going south, and fast. “But I can’t say too much about that.” “Ohhh-kaaay.” Sarah narrowed her blue eyes, the same clear shining eyes that her mother had, the ones that always saw way more than people wanted to show. “Unless you’re not telling us the truth?”

She adds already heading for the kitchen. Within thirty minutes Nina had put the stuff for Santa out on a Christmas plate that Mandy gave her yesterday and she was tucked up in bed while I read her a book called Once Upon a Magical Christmas and she loved every moment of it and so did Josh and Riley. Yep, that's right. The guys sat on the bottom of her bed and listened to the entire story like big children and I swear that the pair of them were almost sleeping their selves by the time I had finished and so was Nina.

"I want to spend Christmas with my dad this year, I don't want to do anything special, I just want to spend Christmas like a normal family." "Your dad is always with you, sweetheart," I told her, before I remembered the reason why Arthur disliked Christmas. "Well, I pray your wish would be granted." But Hayley nodded, her excitement palpable as she continued to narrate what she had heard from her Christmas stories. "I heard somewhere that if I write my wishes on a note and send it as a letter to Santa Claus, he will make my wishes come true. I hear he is in the North Pole, I just don't know what part it is. So I need to know where he lives so I can write the address."

The wind howled outside the old Victorian house, rattling the windows as snow piled high against the panes. It was Christmas Eve in Willow Creek, and Emma Harper had returned from the city for the holidays, hoping the familiar scents of pine and cinnamon would mend the ache of another year alone. At twenty-nine, she was a freelance illustrator, her life a whirlwind of deadlines and empty takeout boxes. But tonight, with the power flickering out from the storm, the house felt alive in a way it hadn't since she was a kid.

“Now drink up…” “How is it that I don’t notice these things until the last minute?” Siel asked aloud, sipping from the large, steaming porcelain mug. The kids came back and then hugged V. They seemed to be tired, but right then, a familiar voice suddenly called out… “Hello, everyone! Welcome to our bonfire’s storytelling time!”, Myron announced in a louder and much more animated tone than his usual CEO’s Personal Assistant voice. “We have chosen ten stories from all of those that were submitted this Christmas, and we will be performing the selected ones in two parts. My beautiful wifey, Raquel, will help me with the voices and sound effects.”

“Tell me what’s going on or I’ll tell Megan that you ruined that last batch of cookies.” “You wouldn’t.” “I would. Now, spill.” Currently, the two women stood in Jubilee and Heath’s room in the cabin while the rest of the family were either downstairs or outside. It was Christmas Day, and they’d just opened presents, which had mostly entailed watching James and the babies rip open packages with glee. Bea and Bennett had ripped open their gifts with a bloodlust that would’ve been frightening if it hadn’t been so cute. Evie was too little to do much other than pull on the ribbons as her parents helped her unwrap her gifts.

It wasn’t as chilly as it had been earlier in the week when the wind was really blowing, but she was thankful to have her hat, gloves, and scarf with her in case it got chillier as the evening wore on. She passed lots of smiling shoppers and excited children pointing at different Christmas decorations that hung from light poles and store fronts. With school out for the holidays, the magic in the air seemed palpable as children realized Christmas really was only about a week away. She overheard one little girl explaining to her mother how she couldn’t wait for Christmas morning so she could finally play with the new doll she’d been writing Santa about for weeks, and by the look on her mother’

“Apparently, I can’t leave my restaurant unattended without chaos breaking loose.” He chuckled. “That’s because you run a tight ship.” She softened. “Maybe. But I don’t regret it. I’m glad we came home for Christmas. I needed that time.” “Me too!” Laya chimed in before yawning so wide her eyes watered. “Best Christmas ever.” She rubbed her face. “Daddy, can you tell me a bedtime story again tonight? The one about the brave princess?” Jordan nodded instantly. “Of course I can. Bath and PJs first, then Momma will bring you the phone. And tonight, that princess might get a dragon.”

They spoke for a moment and he quietly kept on moving towards the exit . My life is doing great even after being married for two year .
