Finding out the people who are most trusted on your society to keep everyone safe are the ones everyone needs to be kept safe from makes you unable to tell friend from foe anymore. I realised Nova was tugging my hand trying to get my attention. Looking up I saw we had stopped and the others were getting out of the cars. Men and women in head to toe black fatigues were jogging into position, preparing to surround the meeting house. This was it. I could feel the excitement and the fear radiating through the bond with Nova.

CADEN: It is December 10. Christmas is almost fifteen days away. I have developed the habit of not having excitement during any events of my life lately neither on my birthdays nor any anniversaries or the heavy and sophisticated business parties of my dad. None of them push my heart even a little bit. Whenever those days come in my life, I would like to deter them as far as possible. I don’t prefer staying at home and having a great time. And this event is more than just a catastrophe to me.

August settled into September. The sixth year moving toward its close. The particular quality of late summer in Blackwood territory, still warm but with something underneath that knew what was coming. The light changing. The days shortening by minutes that added up. The fourth solstice was in December. Four months away. I was not thinking about it constantly. The work was the work and the days were the days. But it was there in the background the way significant things were there when they were coming.

*5 years later* It was the most wonderful time of the year according to the musician, Andy Williams. December 25th was quickly approaching and with less than three days to go, you could feel the excitement in the air. I had booked a ticket from the United States to Nigeria and I was set to return to my home country by Christmas Eve.

As for May, she would go to the market and buy the food stuff she needed for cooking. After they were all done with the house activities, they took their baths and went to church for the cross over service. They turned off all the lights in church and lit a candle once the time struck twelve o'clock midnight. Out cry or shouts of joy followed with people gyrating and dancing because they'd live to see a brand new year. Meanwhile, other people didn't get to see the previous year.

Valen was though worried on whatever he made her aware of after the first lecture in the corridor, yet she did not stop grazing the baked snack during the late hours of the night. The month of December has already brought along a rippling atmosphere with the grains of snow barfing in the room along the breezy air. It has started snowing lately after she returned home. Hardly has it been few hours and already the entire city was covered with the white layer of snow welcoming the Christmases joy. Although the wolves have their own set f festival they still believed in celebrating the arrival of the God of hope and peace, Jesus.

After two months; Date: 25th December ★★★ The temperature was bitterly cold, and the dismal atmosphere entirely barred the sun's rays from reaching the ground. But putting everything else aside, it was Christmas, and nothing could stop people from celebrating it. Even the teeth-chilling cold could not stop people from decking the streets with lights and decorations. The bells jingled on every door as people rejoiced in love and laughter at Santa's visit.

A dream or not, she'd figure it out. "What's the date today?" She asked and watched Dale walk towards a seeming illustration of a calendar and pointed at it. It was sketched in a tan cloth, and the details and calculations were odd enough for a human to understand. "It's exactly the 16th day of the 10,000th-century summer." He replied, making her cup her chin as she stared at the empty basalt stone wall in front of her. 'Seasons too occur in these lands.'

Under the dark sky, a burst of colorful fireworks suddenly lit up, making even the dark rooms in the house bright. I looked at the clock and saw that it was past midnight. It was a new year. Watching the fireworks, I felt happier than I ever had before. The fireworks kept going, lighting up the sky as if they were showing us the way for the year ahead. I smiled, went back to my room, and snuggled into my cozy bed.
