Tom took his hand as he smiled at me. “Omi, this is Jonas. Jonas, this Naomi,” Tom introduced us to each other. “It’s nice to meet you,” I said as I held my hand out to him. “Do I know you from somewhere?” “Ummm…not really, but you know my father. He’s Rip’s business partner.” My eyes widened. “Holy shit! You’re the Jonas! I’ve heard so much about you. Are you and my bestie dating?” Tom groaned as he shoved me playfully. “Stop it, Naomi! Don’t embarrass him.”

Austin revealed, his voice tinged with suspicion. “He lied,” I stated, a frown forming on my face. “But why would he?” “Well, you see, our dear Tom Tom wasn’t just in Greenfield for a meeting; rather, he was there to see a certain someone,” Austin explained eagerly, his voice tinged with excitement. He lifted his phone, displaying an image of Tom alongside a mysterious man. “He was here to see Dr. Tunde, who happens to be a witch,” Austin exclaimed, as he leaned in closer, emphasizing each word for dramatic effect.

“So we do the recon, we map the cameras, we test the shifts. Tomas, you and I handle the feeds. Marco, your men handle the men. You get it.” Tomas ran a hand through his hair, jaw working. He folded his arms, looking at the men seated at the table, then at Gideon. It looked as though he was contemplating. “You pay now?” he asked. Gideon reached into his coat and pushed an envelope across the wood. Tomas picked it up, thumbed the stack, then set it down again slowly, as if counting the weight of the choice.

We’re muted briefly before an alert pops up—an incoming video call. Zoe hits accept, and then Tomas’s face fills the screen. Mẹ was right—but she didn’t tell us everything. He looks like a fucking bodybuilder now. All sharp, angular features and solid muscle. It’s sexy as hell. “Tomas!” Zoe and I both cry out. “Kaia! Zoe!” he says, voice hoarse and weak but full of emotion. “My love,” Zoe says, voice trembling, “How are you feeling?” “Better now that I can see you both,” Tomas rasps.

Tom is a cute 8 years old kid with ash blond hair and dark blue eyes, he is the son of one of the Omegas in the pack. "Hi Tom," I said smiling at him while ruffling his hair. "Hi Alpha, can i have my ball back please" He said while giving me a cute toothy smile. "Sure, but first tell me that have you been behaving well at school, last time i checked you were disturbing your teacher a lot" i asked with a questioning look. "Yes Alpha, when you got into the accident i prayed to the moon goddess that if she makes you better then i will not disturb my teacher at school anymore" he said while giving me his cute smile.

Tom winked before heading to the table with their drinks. Avery and Tom spent the rest of the afternoon talking about what they did during the last years. Tom graduated from high school in Paris and got recruited by a model company. He worked with a lot of brands, and now he was an ambassador for a famous brand in France. He also likes photography and wished he would be a professional photographer in the future.

Nick said. Tomas nodded, “Don't fear, we're brave, not foolish. We will deal with them efficiently and quickly, so that we can go back to Kaltland. No offense, but this place is hell.” Tomas said, fanning himself with his hand. “Thank you, Tomas, for volunteering to help us.” Nick said genuinely. “No problem. A threat to one of us, is a threat to all of us.” Tomas said, banging his fists on the table. * * *

That was enough to make them sympathize with me. But I couldn’t shake the doubt, the gnawing sense that Axel wasn’t really dead. One of the men, a quiet one who had been here longer than I had, pulled me aside after work one night. His name was Tomas, and though he wasn’t much for words, I could see in his eyes that he understood suffering. He asked me if I was sure Axel was really gone, and I nearly broke right there. My chest ached, my throat constricted as I forced the words out, my voice barely a whisper.

"We brief them. We engage at hour five. We have one hour before the chain reaction point." I found Tomas in the eastern corridor after the war council ended. He was sitting on a bench outside the room where Kieran was resting. I sat down beside him. "My wife would have said the same thing I said in there," he said. "Protect the children. Do not gamble." "She sounds like someone worth knowing," I said. "Yes," Tomas said. "She was." We sat there for a moment. "The children are going to close the capital breach," I said. "I know," he said.

"Why." It wasn't a question, but a demand. I exhaled through my nose. There was no version of this where I got to skip the explanation, so I gave it to them plainly. "Tomas was ambushed on his shift at the Eastern border last night," I said. "The beast tore him open before he even had a chance to shift." Bram was on his feet before I'd finished the sentence, his chair scraping hard against the stone. "Tore him open, how?"
