- I told him. He nodded and pulled several books out from one of the stacks and set them in front of me. I opened the top book and ran my fingers over the runes in the title. It was beautifully written as if each word was drawn with love and attention to detail. Now that I looked at it, it reminded me of a combination of Norse and Old English. Nerrian pulled his chair closer and pointed to the first word, speaking it in my mind than out loud in Draygonian. With his help, I repeated the word over and over again until I perfected it.

She leaned into it, just a fraction, her eyes closing. A shout from the courtyard below shattered the moment. They sprang apart, the prince and the warrior snapping back into place. Leaning over the balcony, they saw a rider, one of the outriders from the morning’s diversion, stumbling from his lathered horse, holding a cloth-wrapped bundle. Valerius was already there, taking the bundle. He unwrapped it, and even from the balcony, Leigh could see what it was: a broken arrow, fletched with raven feathers. Tied to it was a scroll.

“A day may come when the courage of men fails, but it is not this day.” He looks at Oscar expectantly, pressing a kiss to his partners palm once again. Bo grips Oscar’s wrist delicately, pulling his partner's hand away from his cheek and instead moving it to press kisses up and down the inside of his wrist. “You’re trying to distract me.” Oscar says it in an attempt to be serious, though he can barely keep his concentration firm enough to form the character's name. “Aragorn, Return of the King.” Bo just hums as a reply.

"Please take my sincere apologies, my Queen." Stepping towards Arzan with a smirk, Anna gazed down at the man. "Do you bring me news?" "Yes, my Queen." Standing to his feet, Arzan pulled out a black sword. Along its blade was writing in old elvish language. The elves were wiped out more than thirty years ago on the night of the Red Moon. It was thought the entire race was killed, and along with it their magic. Turning to one of the Rogues near the door, Arzan nodded. Bowing, the Rogue moved back inside. Smiling, Arzan gazed at his soon-to-be Queen. "I also have a gift for you."

Alura interjected, “That’s beside the point. When we reach the lands, we’ll sort that out. Right now, there’s a bigger problem. The red moon will soon go down. Dawn is coming. It will be dangerous for any wolf to be out by then, no matter their rank or status.” By the time she finished, the Blackthorne wolves had already fallen back into formation, ready to march. Damien spoke quietly. “You haven’t asked about Aragon.” Alura's expression darkened. “Why? Where is Aragorn? What’s going on?” Damien’s jaw tightened. “Aragon was killed by Salcan while defending me.”

However, the word he had earlier heard interrupted his flow of thoughts, and the emotions that were creeping into him. Arthmata, Arthmata, Arthmata. The words resounded in his head in the very manner and pace the woman had said it. It, however, sounded more of a ghostly echo. Who was that woman? And what the hell is Arthmata? The woman looked worried when he met her. Their car had rammed into a truck. However, one thing caught his eye- Her eyes. When he first saw them, the top right quarter of her iris was red, the top left corner green, a the lower right quarter blue and the remaining quarter orange, and it seemed to glow dimly. The pupil was black, but it was blacker that the pupil anyone
