Arcane #viktor Novels & Stories

"The one who set up the deal. The one your mother uses. What do you actually know about him." "He came recommended. Three years ago. Impeccable credentials, Harvard, fifteen years at—" "What's his name." "Mara—" "His name Viktor." "Marcus Hale." I reached into my bag. Put the photograph on the table between us. The one from Aleksei's file. The man outside the Milan building. Viktor looked at it. "Your father took that," I said. "Along with five others. Different cities, different years. Same man." Viktor picked it up.

Victor approached the commotion. "Is there a problem here?" "Mr. Victor!" Anna chirped, sliding into her most professional persona. "I was just informing Mrs. Miller—well, ex-Mrs. Miller—that I am Aris. I believe my application was processed this morning?" Mr. Victor looked at Anna, then at the tablet in his hand. He seemed hesitant, but the lure of having the "Tech God" return to his stage was too great for his ego to ignore. "The digital signature provided matches the historical encrypted keys of Aris's early work. If you claim the title, the committee accepts. We have missed your brilliance."

Same slightly slanted eyes although the Lycan’s were dark, almost black as was his hair. “Why are you here Darina?” he lifted my chin to look into my eyes. “I... umm… I wanted to meet you.” I said, my mouth suddenly dry. He inclined his head slightly and moved back, arms folded across his broad chest to examine me like an interesting insect. “You remember Anastasia of the of the Sacred Forest Pack?” Victor said. “Was I talking to you?” his head snapped to Victor’s direction and Victor immediately bowed his head in submission before his fierce aura. “Speak girl. Why do you want to meet me?”

However, the two of us were taken aback upon seeing a dashing figure pass by us. It was Ari. I instinctively shoved the tonic I was holding at Lowell to follow Ari, but she was too fast. Lowell managed to catch up to me, being agile since he is a wolf. We followed Ari, trying to call her name. She didn't look back and went straight to the hall. We saw how Macan tried to keep tackling everyone, including Ari, before he started to vomit blood after eating the flower that Tora was holding. I was stunned because my chest hurt due to Ari's unstable emotions.

I stand in the center of the arena, my heart pounding so hard I can feel it in my teeth. Across from me, another door opens. And my opponent enters. He's massive—easily six-five, maybe two-hundred-fifty pounds of muscle and violence. His face is scarred, one ear missing, and his eyes have the flat, dead look of someone who's killed so many times it doesn't even register anymore. A feral rogue. The crowd roars approval. "Ladies and gentlemen!" A voice booms over speakers—Hank, acting as announcer. "In the red corner, we have Viktor the Butcher! Twelve wins, zero losses, and a taste for omega blood!"

“What will happen when people figure out that there’s magic in your blood?” I asked, my voice equally as calm as his... The alpha took a deep swig of his cigarette, blowing out the steam of smoke. It condensed in the humid summer air, carrying the scent of arsenic and nicotine towards me, making my nose itch… “Honestly, I don’t care,” Victor replied, dropping the cigarette stump and squishing it with his foot. “But if Ryan – the real one! – comes back…” He grinned, his wicked smile flashing his white canines. “Give me a hauler, will you? I want to see the two of you fight it out. Especially considering you stole his mate!”

“Don’t speak.” He raised both hands slowly. “Wolf king, listen—” Wrong move. I lunged at him, swiping my claws at him. He vanished just as my claws slashed through the air where his throat had been. I turned fast, snapping my jaws at him, but he was gone again with inhuman speed. Viktor was an ancient vampire after all. “I don’t want to fight you,” Viktor said, his voice was calm and firm as he reappeared several feet away. “Aria is alive.”

He let the question hang, then dismissed it with a careless shrug and leaned forward, extending a hand across the low table between them. “That’s fine. I’ll just introduce myself personally.” His eyes gleamed with something sharp, something Aaron didn’t miss. “My name’s Viktor. Viktor Kane.” His smile deepened as his hand remained stretched forward. “Pleasure making your acquaintance, Mr. Aaron James Aldridge.”

I saw Viktor stumble once more, his arrogance fading as he realized his empire was crumbling. “Finish it, Ronan!” I yelled, watching as he raised his blade for the final strike. Viktor’s face twisted in fury, and he tried to lunge at Ronan, but it was too late. With a swift, decisive motion, Ronan plunged his blade into Viktor’s chest. The world seemed to freeze as the sound of Viktor’s final breath filled the silence that followed. He dropped to his knees, a cruel smile still etched on his face as he crumbled to the ground.

— was already pulling something from his pocket. A silver pendant caught the light, covered in symbols that matched the ones from those prophecy pages perfectly. The moment it appeared, my magic went crazy. It was like having a tuning fork struck inside my soul. From the way the wolves' ears twitched, they could hear something too. “My name is Victor,” the vampire said calmly, “and I've been searching for you for a very long time, Aria.” Through our mate bond, I felt Kane and Zane's confusion and protective fury swirling with my own turbulent emotions. The pendant kept humming, making it hard to think straight.
