Then we heard the microphone crackle. The entire room downstairs gradually quietened. The MC's voice echoed through the house. She makes her way over, her friend trailing behind. “Well, well, well.” She looks between Jack and me, smirking. “Raven. What are you doing here?” “Who is she?” Jack asks. “My annoying soon-to-be stepsister.” I step back from him, putting distance between us. “What are you doing here, Aria? You’re not even old enough to be in a place like this.” “Neither are you, technically.” She pulls out an ID and waves it. “Fake ID. See? Gina Horne, age twenty-six. Pretty good, right?”
