It didn’t look like the others. This one was built differently—thicker. Reinforced steel, smooth with no visible keyhole or keypad. Instead, a palm-sized biometric panel pulsed faint blue to the left of the frame. “This is it,” Malik muttered, adjusting the strap of his backpack. “4B. Their most secured room.”

The First Shadow whispered, "The Return." Anira looked at Liana. "The Origin Realm has noticed the error." Kael raised his sword. "What does that mean?" Anira answered calmly. "It means the design will be restored." Liana stared at the approaching emptiness. "And us?" Anira's eyes were filled with something almost like sadness. "You will be returned." The white emptiness began moving toward the Interworld. Cities started disappearing at its edge. Not exploding. Not burning. Simply vanishing. Liana raised the Celestial Heart.

I pat his thigh. He sucks in a breath and I snatch my hand quickly. His birthday is approaching, and so he is in heat, another reason we always show up late. He glances at me, biting his lip. The hungry looking rogues circled us, smacking their lips together and growling. Rachel pulled me into her and let out a kick to one of the rogues. She was a great fighter while I just stood their like a useless idiot. Picking up a long stick beside me I poked one of the rogues in the eye making him yell out in pain. Buying myself a few more minutes to think, I found myself wishing I could reach Ben by mindlink. "We're coming. Don't worry." His voice filled my mind and I squeaked in response. IN some way, Adelina felt out of sorts as all the while, Jonathan McCurby hadn't sent a message across to her or even visited.
