Keaton didn't respond immediately. His sharp gaze was locked onto Channary, not out of suspicion, but out of concern. "How do you know he's your mate?" he asked her carefully. "I thought you couldn’t remember anything about that night. And the bond—we’re not supposed to find it outside of the Blood Moon."
But Channary wasn’t looking at Keaton. She was holding her daughters close, her eyes fixed on Colton like he was a wound that wouldn’t heal. Those once soft brown eyes were burning now—with fury, with heartbreak, and something else tangled up between.
