The gauntlets and greaves were adorned with intricate designs, and the helmet that he wore was adorned with a fierce-looking wolf's head.

He pulled Cora behind him, tucking her under his wing as he glared at the wolves growling ferociously at them. Using her magic she tried to find out if there were more warriors behind them but there was nothing. All of a sudden she felt a powerful wave of magic and a black shadow appeared out of the woods. A dagger was about to pierce Hunter's back but she stopped it with her magic. They all stopped as Silvia redirected that dagger from where it came from. The girl wearing a black cloak came out of hiding smiling at Silvia. Silvia inhaled sharply knowing fully well who she was. This girl was Armando's protector. And she was half human and half witch. "Long time no see," She mused, eyeing her, and then her gaze flickered to Hunter.

The sky, once empty, was now filled with distorted shapes cutting through the clouds. Winged creatures — but none were ordinary birds. Some had leather wings, others silver feathers, but none looked natural. One looked like a grotesque cross between a raven and a panther. Everyone turned. A group of armored warriors charged into the chamber. Their armor was unlike anything Nova had ever seen. Dark silver steel covered every inch of their bodies. Black cloaks flowed behind them. Each warrior carried a spear tipped with shimmering silver crystal. And every shield bore the same Blackthorn crest. At their head rode a woman on an enormous white wolf. She leapt gracefully from its back the moment she entered the chamber. Her silver hair, streaked with hints of white from age, was braided down her back.
