I could have melted in my seat. The dark brows, combined with the enviable long dark eyelashes, made the blue of his eyes stand out even more. The color reminded me of the blue cobalt bottles I worked with in the lab. They were that blue. “He’s coming,” I hissed beneath my breath.

My blue arches were meshing with his red ones, causing a purple glow to form when our hands were together, and I muttered a wow. “What is that?” Hearing him swallowing uncomfortably, I raised my hand off of his, separating the colors, and peered up at him. “Color theory, red and blue make purple,” he replied in exasperation and I then asked what I could do with my blue arch. Giving me a bland glare he explained, “You can use it as a weapon to push others or toss them away if you're strong enough. Try moving the coffee cup across the table.” Focusing on the cup with my splayed hand I watched it slide a tiny bit and smiled triumphantly.

They were the canvas for my next masterpiece. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small vial of concentrated methylene blue, a medical grade dye. In small doses, it’s harmless. In "Jean-Pierre" doses, it has a very specific side effect: it turns the consumer’s skin a delicate, sickly shade of Smurf, the blue ones. "One drop for the Prince," I whispered, my accent slipping into something vaguely resembling a Bond villain. "Two drops for the Marriage Merger. And three drops because he tried to play father to my children.”

“You’re a pretty cool chick Steel?” I snorted with a smile as I pulled away a bit so I could meet his gaze. “Why do you insist on calling me by my lastname ever since you found out what is was.” He smiled and reached up to caress my cheek. “It suits you. Especially since the name itself compliments the colour of your eyes. Fact is Steel turns blue because of a thin oxide layer that forms on the surface of metal. And your eyes reminds me of that. Steel may not have a specific color, but for your eyes…it does.”

insulted, V tried to act threatening but was failed by the unforgiving wound on his belly. "I don't know what you are talking about, but I am giving you the truth," she began pacing toward them. "What are you doing?" confronted Marco, but now, fear was in his voice. "Drink that," she said coldly while handing a glass of some sort of weird-looking fluid in it to V. "You're not yet healed and you shouldn't be out of your bed yet. Don't worry, it's not a poison, not a love potion either. You need this to make your recovery fast."

So familiar, but exotic in a way I couldn't even begin to explain. I just stood, staring out the door like an absolute idiot, taking in the God at my doorstep. I couldn't take my eyes off his own. A deep-set swirling violet tinted with the darkest ebony black was confined to the irises of his eyes. It almost trapped me, like hands made from the illusory magic that seemed to pull me in.
