Ash's Corner Novels & Stories

We found Ash on level three, cell number fourteen. He was curled in the corner of his unit, small and shaking, his eyes dimmed from the nullification field. But when I broke the cell door open and the runes shattered, his eyes flared back to life. “Mama?” His voice was barely a whisper. “I’m here, baby.” I was on my knees, pulling him into my arms, crushing him against my chest. “Mama’s here. You’re safe now.” He sobbed into my neck, his small hands gripping my shirt with desperate strength. “They kept saying you weren’t coming. That nobody wanted me.”

He coughed and held his head while he jumped to his feet and looked around the office frantically. "Anise?" Asher called for his last mate, "ANISE?!" He boomed, a noise so loud, Miranda heard it in the attic. His voice startled her so much, the book in her hand toppled to the ground with a loud thud. Asher heard the noise and looked up at the ceiling. He huffed out an angry breath and Anise stood in the corner, hoping that Asher could figure out where Miranda was. 'You're not him.' Asher heard Anise's rebuke in his mind, and his heart squeezed in pain.

Asher’s eyes flashed with fury, his jaw clenched so tightly that Olivia thought he might snap. "No," Asher said abruptly, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. He took a step forward, his posture radiating raw anger. "This is not happening. I’m not entertaining this ridiculous charade any longer." Thelia’s smirk faltered, but she quickly masked it with her usual haughty expression. His gaze then swept over the crowd, daring anyone to speak up. "The trial is over before it begins." Olivia stood silently besides him, her heart pounding as she watched the fierce protectiveness in Asher’s stance. She knew he was close to losing control—she could see the storm brewing just beneath t

she said to Ashley, who was still grinning from her successful shot. Aiden, ever the team player, signaled for Ashley to split up. She nodded, and they dashed in opposite directions. He found a hidden corner, his back pressed against the cool wall, and took a moment to catch his breath. The sounds of squeaking sneakers and muffled laughter grew faint, and he knew he had lost his opponents for a brief moment. His finger hovered over the trigger, poised for action.

I saw shadows drop down behind him and smiled. “What is it with you and trying to rub yourself up against my girl?” I heard as Chase grabbed Asher from behind and ripped him away from me before throwing him against the wall. I jumped out of the way as Asher smashed into the cliff edge and dirt rained down from above. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Malcolm growl and run at us. Adam appeared from somewhere and landed a blow to Malcolm’s face while Dayna slid in and slammed kicked him in the knees.

Movement from the corner of my eyes catches my attention; I could swear to the Moon Goddess that I saw Cain smile. But Damon isn’t done. With a powerful surge of strength, he twists out from under Asher, slamming him into the ground. The impact shakes the chamber, and a collective gasp ripples through the crowd. Damon snarls, his teeth bared as he looms over Asher. It’s the first time I see doubt flicker in Asher’s eyes, but it’s gone as quickly as it came. The two Alphas lunge at each other again, their snarls filling the air. This time, they collide with such force that they both drop to the ground, unmoving.

“Second shelf from the right.” “PAPIII! HURRY! NOW!” Ash shrieked, face red, tears streaming. Zane moved with slow certainty. He found the cocoa can, popped the lid, set it on the counter. Ash flopped out of his arms and rolled dramatically on the floor, then slammed his tiny fist onto the tile. “IF YOU’RE SLOW I’LL DIE!” I glanced over. “Are you sure he’s not related to a telenovela actor?”

They would pay dearly. Suddenly, Ash stepped out of the corner and grinned at me. He glanced at the guards satisfactorily and back at me. I held my breath waiting for him to explain. My stomach felt nauseous as I wondered if my thoughts were right. Ash wasn't behind this, was he? I hoped he wouldn't do that. "This is all going according to plan. I knew your pack was too easy to deceive," Ash told me with a sneer. I realized with horror what Ash had done. We were under attack.

He’d bind me with that sinful deal. Rough laughter sounded again. Cold fingers slid down my thigh. Rough beard scraped my neck. I jerked, fighting. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a silhouette. I turned fast to the far end of the room, and there stood Ash, behind the camera crew, smiling defiantly. Like a devil himself who already knew he’d won. His dark eyes locked on me, waiting. Tick tock. I hated this. I hated him. But I hated them more.

he said and scoffed, but the devilish glint in his eyes only grew brighter. Lola threw her bag in and got into the passenger seat. Ash was about to close the door when his eyes locked on something else over by the school. Standing around the corner, watching them with a fierce glare, was Clay. “I’m guessing that’s Clementine Hall?” Lola nodded and looked at his confounding expression. “Why?” Ash looked away, but he was still deep in thought. “No reason,” he said and shut the door. Ash got in behind the wheel and drove off.
