Luna had just sat down briefly before getting up to wash her hands. As she walked along the corridor, she was so captivated by the view of the ocean that she stopped in her tracks. The vast, boundless sea, accompanied by a chilly breeze… She loved how all this felt. While Luna was lost in the beauty of the scenery, a shadowy figure in black suddenly approached her. The man placed both hands on Luna's shoulders and gave a forceful shove. As Luna lost her balance, she instinctively tried to grab the railing. However, the man reacted swiftly and pushed her again.

“Clearly you didn’t satisfy him, because he woke in my bed this morning.” My temples throb. I turn to Ash, who’s watching the brawl with mild disbelief, arms crossed over his bare chest. “I don’t suppose you’d like to explain?” I ask, my voice deadly calm. Ash tilts his head, considering. Then he offers a half-smile, all charm and absolutely no remorse. “Ladies, I never made any promises. I’m happy to spend time with both of you to make up for this little misunderstanding. I’m halfway undressed already if you’d like to join me right away.”

“There you are, my little slave.” Ashley’s stomach twisted at the sound of his voice, but she stood her ground. “It’s over, Adonis.” He chuckled darkly, shaking his head. “Oh, Ashley. It’s far from over.” And then, with a snap of his fingers, the gunfire erupted. --- The battle was swift and brutal. Adonis’s men swarmed the cabin, but Ashley, Demon, and their allies fought back with everything they had. The air was filled with the deafening sounds of gunfire and shouts, and the smell of smoke and blood filled Ashley’s lungs.

A human, at least. I wring my palms, they felt sandy. I opened my palms, looking into them. They were covered in ash. My arms. My fucking body. “Oh no.” I tried rubbing it off, scrubbing them off with the back of my wrist. It was as though they were glued to my skin. I'm scrubbing them off more. More. The detectives kick the door open, and the moment my eyes land on Anna and Asher, something inside me shatters. They’re huddled in a corner, Anna clutching Asher protectively. His small frame trembles in her arms, his face pale with fear. A dark bruise mars the corner of Anna’s lip, proof of whatever hell they’ve been through. She looks like she’s been hit more than once. Asher, my boy—he’s completely shaken. Then they see me. Without hesitation, they rush forward, throwing themselves into my arms, their bodies wracked with sobs. I hold them tight, pressing them close, whispering promises I should have made sooner.
