Three years later..... A sleek black limited edition car stopped in front of the Morrison group. Immediately everyone straightened their spine in attention. They all recognised that car. Their boss, the handsome and enigmatic Asher Morrison stepped out of the car. He likes to drive his own vehicle. Almost every female in the vicinity swooned just by looking at him. If his father Theodore was handsome, then Asher can be called a Greek god. His perfect features complimented by his perfect eight pack body looks like he is walking straight out of a fashion magazine. In his dark blue suit, he looked every ounce the ruthless businessman that he was said to be.

We passed a motel quite some distance below—the one where we will be spending the night. “He really doesn’t want to be disturbed, huh?” I said considering how high up in the mountains we were. “Carter Gray has done some real shitty stuff throughout his life including the unfair means he used to win the Cold War…he has a lot to repent about,” Asher said, wrapping a thick jacket around me and zipping it up to my neck. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and then took my hand. “Watch your steps on the snow…” he muttered. “You wouldn’t want to trip,”

My knees grow weak, and I collapse on the swivel chair, willing my heart to slow down. Asher was probably here because of a business concern. Because of what I recall, he was rich, and his father owned one of the most successful conglomerate companies. No doubt he was in charge of a few of them now. It was a no-brainer that he would have to come over to New York since they have a couple of branches here. It's been years, six years to be exact, he could have possibly come here in search of me. I’m fine and Melody will be fine… like we've always been.

"Fredrick Coke, you bloodly bastard!" Asher who was drunk suddenly cursed. Hailey suddenly stopped walking. Fredrick Coke?? Isn't that Old Master Coke's name? "Assistant Leo, I've brought tea to sober him up" The Secretary came in. Leo supported Asher and fed him the tea. However, he still appeared unconscious.. Hailey felt that she had heard him wrongly. Kyle mocks Asher. “That was not the plan, Ace is the only one who’s supposed to spend time with his woman tonight, if you guys leave me all alone, I’ll go straight up to mum and dad’s bedroom and report this sacrilege that’s about to happen here. So you better choose, we all spend this night discussing and let Ace and his woman enjoy or, I sabotage everything. I’m Attorney Asher I don’t give my word for nothing” Asher warns and the others roll their eyes and look at him in annoyance.

“Can’t I just get rid of them? You know I enjoy killing more than kidnapping.” Asher was a shadow in the criminal underworld, known for his ruthlessness and precision. His reputation as a notorious killer had been built over years of executing high-profile hits without leaving a trace. Politicians and powerful figures hired him to eliminate their adversaries, and he operated with cold efficiency that made him both feared and respected. And the officers had been on his trail without success. “No,” Charles replied. “I need to put her in her place before getting rid of her.” “That’s more like it.” Asher’s sinister laugh echoed through the phone. “Who is it?”

He straightened, the shift from Garrick-who-makes-jokes to Garrick-who-runs-things happening cleanly the way it always did, the Beta mode settling over him like something he put on and wore well. "His name is Asher," he started. "From Nightfall Pack. Four years ago their pack was wiped out by—" he looked at me directly, "—what they claimed was you." I nodded. I understood what he was saying and what he wasn't saying and I did not need him to navigate around it. The accusation does not surprise me anymore. "Go on," I said. “The servant…” he continued. “Her name is Isora,” I corrected him, my voice flat.

“I would definitely do him because we have the same taste in men, but let’s forget this mystery guy for a while, shall we? I love this song!” I collapsed onto the sofa in frustration. I might have misjudged his gestures. Of course, I did. He saved and came to me to clear out his guilt. Because of him, that suckass Asher took his revenge on poor me. That was what Forrest had been doing all this time. I groaned to myself. I should be pulling off that big girl pants and searching for a job and not trying to flirt with Forrest because he is certainly not into me. He should have done that a long time ago if he ever did. The ship had sailed.

“I’m sorry for barging in, but you need to turn on the news. Now.” Something in Janine’s voice made my stomach clench. I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. The moment the screen lit up, my blood ran cold. Let's get back to what happened with me and Julius when I took him at the back of the Vanta's camp, to calm his nerves. Julius is a sweet boy, he just has a rough past that he is holding onto.
