I passed a mirror on my way to the toilet and grimaced at what I saw. My eyelids were still puffy and red from all the unnecessary crying. Then my eyes landed on my bare body. Small and large scratches lined my arms and even chest; it had been a week or so and my bruises and cuts were still there. Thanks to my wonderful tormentors. Mara never touched me. It would hurt her precious Luna reputation if she did. But her friends seem to relish in the blood lust. Probably, their wolves enjoyed taking their frustration out on me.

Maureen slid closer to the remaining cake and grabbed a tiny slice using his index finger and licked it. "But eventually, as the first lady of the Spencer Group and Companies, I will make sure your life is a living hell, Elaine. You can still smile all you want for now, but sooner or later, I'll be the first to enjoy seeing you cry." Everyone in the room, including Ms. Lalaine, was taken aback by Maureen's sarcastic and threatening remarks. She did not even hesitate to let out those words in front of her husband's employees.
