, the light of true love, which will reveal the true goodness of human beings. They look like regular people during the day. But when the moon is full, they turn into a hairy- and- scary- monster! And when the full moon disappears they turn back into a person. It's hard to pin down the world's first reference to werewolves. One of the oldest known written works on the planet, "The Epic of Gilgamesh," is a likely candidate. In it, Gilgamesh refuses to become the lover of the goddess Ishtar because of her cruel treatment of her previous suitors. Ishtar turned one man, a shepherd, into a wolf, making him the enemy of his friends, his sheep and even his own dogs.

Another tale was when when Gilgamesh (a God) jilted a potential lover because she had turned her previous mate into a wolf. This book had a different tale entirely to tell, it was of how a lycan himself was one of the gods back then and how he had created his kind to be. It also spoke about the whole mating process, there was no denying when he'd gotten to their pages that he had gotten to his favorite part of the book. The chair sank with his weight and the back creaked as he leaned his back into it. -time to get back to reading- He remained that way over the course of multiple hours and only lifted his head when he remembered he had to eat dinner.

I say running my hands down my face in an anxious manner. “I’m getting to that, Enki one of the Annunaki who created man was very fond of mankind and didn’t want to see them destroyed so he told one man Known as Gilgamesh what Yahweh had decided. Which allowed him time to build what you know as an arch to help preserve humans.” “You mean, the whole Noah and the Arch thing was actually real too?” I shout interrupting him. “Would you like me to finish now.” He says patiently waiting for me to regain my composure.

He didn’t reply, just stared at the horizon. In the distance, the Euphrates shimmered—thin, cracked, retreating. The river that once fed empires now bled into dust. The sight struck me deep, like I was watching a god die. “Look what they found,” Raffaele said, a note of pride in his voice. I leaned forward, breath catching. “Is that… Gilgamesh’s tomb?” He smirked. “You know your ancient kings.” “Gilgamesh wasn’t just a king,” I said, eyes wide with awe. “He was the first hero. A demigod—two-thirds divine, one-third man. My father believed the tomb held orichalcum, lost knowledge, maybe even forgotten technologies.”

Some scholars believe the werewolf made its debut in The Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest known Western prose, when Gilgamesh jilted a potential lover because she had turned her previous mate into a wolf. Werewolves made another early appearance in Greek mythology with the Legend of Lycaon. According to the legend, Lycaon, the son of Pelasgus, angered the god Zeus when he served him a meal made from the remains of a sacrificed boy. As punishment, the enraged Zeus turned Lycaon and his sons into wolves.

Just need to be edited, overall I love it, it has it's originality, it's start like some crazy sitcom and ends up having this climax, my favourite character has to be Goblin, I like how you portrayed his character, he's someone who was hurt because of the werewolves and vampires issues, overall nice

The class erupts in laughter. "Hardly." He turns and writes Gilgamesh. "Here, we have the earliest recording in the written word of a werewolf. Gilgamesh spurned a lover because she had turned her mate into a wolf. Though some argue that werewolves are more ancient than 2,800 BC That of Greek mythology with the Legend of Lycaon." I squirm in my chair, itching to open the textbook and take a peek. Greek myths had fascinated me last year, but I didn't recall this story.

“This is a bit left field.” “Actually it’s not, in fact it’s totally pertinent to our film.” “Okay, this I’ve got to hear.” “One of the oldest written stories in existence is Inanna’s Journey to Hell, it’s even older than the Epic of Gilgamesh. It tells how Inanna, a fertility goddess, travels into the afterlife . She descends through all seven levels of Hell, and then her sister Ereshkigal, an ancient, sex mad crone who rules the underworld, captures and kills her. Because she’s a goddess she comes back to life and her lover, the shepherd king Dumuzi, sets her free. It’s like the forerunner to lots of later myths about rescues from the underworld such as Orpheus and Eurydice, Demeter and Pe

Other Sumir poems relate Gimir's defeat of the ogre Huwawa and the Bull of Heaven and a fifth, poorly preserved one apparently describes his death and funeral. In later Bavin times, these stories began to be woven into a connected narrative. The standard Akkadian Epic of Gimir was composed by a scribe named Sîn-lēqi-unninni, probably during the Middle Bavin Period (c. 1600 – c. 1155 SA), based on much older source material. In the epic, Gimir is a demigod of superhuman strength who befriends the wild-man Enkin. Together, they go on adventures, defeating Humbaba (the East Semitic name for Huwawa) and the Bull of Heaven, who, in the epic, is sent to attack them by Ishtar (the East Semitic equi

よくある質問

Honestly, it's a bit of a rabbit hole. We don't have an author in the modern sense for Gilgamesh. The text we know is a composite from different periods, mainly the 'Standard Babylonian' version credited to a scholar-priest named Sîn-lēqi-unninni. That's based on a colophon (a scribe's note) found on some cuneiform tablets. But even he was likely compiling and editing older Sumerian poems about Gilgamesh that were already centuries old by his time.

So the evidence is fragmentary—literally, broken clay pieces. The attribution to Sîn-lēqi-unninni comes from library catalogues and tablets from places like Nineveh. It's less about proving he invented the story and more that he's responsible for the canonical 12-tablet version that survived. It’s weird to think of a single 'author' for something that feels like a collective, evolving myth. Makes you wonder how many other names are lost to fire and flood.
