Author Richard Matheson Novels & Stories

Ashford name carved deep. Damien walked alone into the cemetery. I watched from the car. Torres and her team surrounding us. Weapons ready. Waiting. Richard appeared from behind Marcus's headstone. No backup visible. No weapons drawn. Just him. Standing. Waiting. "You came," Richard called out. "I thought perhaps you would send someone. Hire your own killer. But no—here you are. The hero. The protector. The fool." "We agreed. Single combat. Keep your word." "My word." Richard laughed. "My word means nothing. It never did. You should know that by now."

He studied Richard closely for a moment before growling, "Richard Wilson!" he came closer to Richard. "The billionaire that every channel brags about these days as a hero right? You actually left your business empire to become a hero? To what do I owe this unannounced visit? What do you want from me, man?" He said all at once a, throwing his hands up in the air. Richard smiled wryly. "Your life," he replied. "You must be the dreaded Barukas," Richard said, smiling. Barukas chuckled out aloud.

Alizeh said and all four elements shimmered and left. Jamie had four guys looking at her expectantly. Richard coughed and said “ Well I suppose I better introduce everyone. I am Richard and my demon is called Amon. I will be teaching you sword fighting.” Jamie looked at Richard, he was about 6 foot 3, dirty blond hair that was ear length, pale skin and brilliant periwinkle eyes. His body was statuesque, with extremely broad shoulders, long legs and very well defined muscles Straining to get through his top. Richard notice that she was staring and quickly blushed. Richard chuckled “like what you see Princess? Well it is all yours” He said with a twinkle in his eye.

I assured him. "I don't want to hear your flat promises," Richard snapped, his voice filled with frustration and anger. "I need to see for myself that Reese is truly safe. I can't rely on empty words anymore." I nodded my head as I watched his struggle to accept the truth about the recent death of his mate, Ruth. Richard's eyes welled up with tears as he clenched his fists, desperately trying to maintain composure. As he stared at the space where Ruth had disappeared, I could see the pain and longing in his eyes. It was clear that Richard needed more than just words to find solace and peace of mind.

It is the promise I made with Ren, 2 years ago that I will be there wherever and whenever Ren needed me. Meanwhile, Richard's phone began to ring. When Richard's friend finally entered the apartment, I immediately recognized him as Cain Anderson, the stand-in CEO of Tyto Corporation. Who would've imagined that Richard and Cain were friends? Though I knew Cain, he had never seen me, so I acted like I don’t know him at all.

"I'm not one coveting someone else's mate." Calvin slowly let go of his firm grip on Richard’s shirt as his eyes widened in realization. He finally figured what Richard had been trying to say. The man had first asked when the promise made to him would be fulfilled. Then he asked if he wasn't interested in knowing who his mate was. He then proceeded to mention Charlene's name and now he was talking about coveting... "Who is your mate?" Calvin found himself asking. "Haven't you been listening?" Richard asked in a loud voice. "Charlene Hayford is my mate and my mate happens to be your girlfriend."

"Yes, I can say that,' Alexandro said. “I won’t join your manhunt, if that’s what you’re asking. But I will tell you this—there are others out there. Beyond my kingdom. Beyond yours. Not all creatures respect our war or our women.” Alexandro’s eyes narrowed. “You know something.” “I know rumors. I’ve heard whispers of a new power rising from the east. A rogue named Maeron. Not a wolf. Not quite human. Something... older. I thought he was a myth.” “Why would a myth take my mate?” Valerian’s expression darkened. “You’ll have to find that answer yourself.” Alexandro’s jaw tightened. He didn’t trust Valerian. He never would. But what he said sounded real.

Chapter 7 Richard had just arrived that day from Singapore. The girl was immediately the one he wanted to go to. He wanted to surprise her in her apartment. Richard Petter is a black American. He went to the Pines to invest in a business. He is a gasoline investor. He has been living in the Pines for five years and wants to get married here.

Amanda asked as she glared at Richard with a murderous look. "Why are you so agitated. Who told you that Richard wanted to hurt me. In fact he is a very good child and he brought me many fruits and many nutritious supplements." Her mother was not sure what was going on with this daughter of hers. "Don't be rude to our guest. You should at least say hi." Her mother reprimanded. "Richard this is Amanda my daughter. Amanda this is Richard Howell the president and CEO of R&S group of companies. I think you have heard of it." Her mother introduced briefly.

"You look pale." "Hangover," I say shortly. "Oh." Her expression turns disapproving. "Well, maybe don't drink so much." I want to throw my water glass at her. The dinner progresses in a blur of excruciating small talk. Richard's nice enough—a successful businessman, recently divorced, clearly smitten with my mother. He keeps talking about how excited he is to blend their families. Cain says almost nothing. Just watches me with those dark eyes, and every time our gazes meet I feel my stomach flip.
