I peered at the screen. A Hello Kitty background popped up with a login box. "Hello Kitty?" He laughed gleefully. "I know, right? Who would guess that this site contains some of the biggest secrets in the world? Pink is so innocuous!" I had to agree with him there. He started punching in a login name: ICANCU. Before I thought better of it, I blurted out, "I. Can. See. You. You see auras. Good username." Dante grinned, then frowned. "I know! You don't think it's too obvious, do you? Wait!" He turned the keyboard away from me to type in the password.

She could not even remember what she must have written down to even search for it. Trying various keywords like "ID", "I*******m", and "oldID", she give it up when she could not find any results. Having no other option, she started scrolling down, reading every line and word. Ten minutes later, she was beaming. She had found the username"Shanvi". Her old I*******m username. Blushing to herself on recalling making the username by mixing their name, she found the password and she was on I*******m a minute later with her old profile.

Something to identify my work beyond “Anonymous Designer 4728.” I stared at the blank field on the screen. I thought about the black and white sketchbooks stacked on my desk and fingers typed Mono... I stared at the incomplete word on the screen. I needed a complete word for it. “Monochrome” I added the rest. I clicked save. The platform updated immediately. My profile page refreshed with the new name displayed at the top. “Monochrome- Anonymous Designer.” I scrolled through my uploaded designs. Thirty pieces so far, all sold within weeks of posting, perfect.

My hair’s piled on top of my head in a messy knot, my skin bare, my eyes tired but alert. The cursor blinks in the “Create Account” box. Username. I stare at it for a long time. What name belongs to me when I strip away all the ones I’ve been given; Mrs. Hernandez, Dorothy the cancer patient, Dorothy the fragile wife, Dorothy the obedient daughter? None of those fit. Not anymore. RainWitch. I type it in. It feels dramatic in the right way. Private but rebellious. I imagine rain soaking through everything fake until only the truth is left behind. Witches aren’t afraid of being misunderstood.

“You can make your username private so it lists you as anonymous, but really, the only thing anyone can see is your username.” Jack nodded. He would definitely make sure Riley’s username was anonymous. His public persona and his JJ and The Kid persona could be public. His YouTube followers would definitely want to know which caches he’d found, and it would be a good promotion for his channels. “Can we do another one?” Jack asked.

As I scroll down, my attention got caught by this comment. [@ArtLovesHisCoffee <3 @KofierWriter shipping!!!] - I saw a comment tagging someone because it has Kofi's username. I got curious who is this ArtLovesHisCoffee. I press it, and I want to see who this person is. I'm not surprised by what I saw, It's Arthur's profile, and my attention got caught when I see Kofi in his post.

I assumed he would sign up even if it was against the rules because he's Adam. He shrugged and canceled the email invite. *** 3, 2, 1...the app is live! I waited with my hands clenched alone in my office. And then the notification alerts starting pouring in and I felt high. Or at least what I assume being high feels like since I was pretty straight laced besides my glass of wine at night. My username couldn't be about anything from back home, it would give me away. Nothing about New Jersey or New York City, not even my favorite sports teams or players. ARod would be fun to play with. I smiled to myself thinking of how his nickname and the Yankees name overall could have double meanings.
