Her legs began to turn heavy, the skin shimmering with a blue, translucent sheen. "It will be over soon," the Avatar said, stepping closer. Her finger reached out to touch Audrey’s forehead. "Just a moment of cold, and then... the Forever." HISSSSSS. A jet of superheated, oily steam blasted into the room, obscuring the Avatar in a cloud of grey. "Not today, you overgrown weed!" Commander Vane burst through the door, her brass arm glowing cherry-red from the internal pressure of her boiler. She wasn't alone.
