I would normally go and stay with them for a month at a time. My Uncle Maven and Aunt Amelia are the Alpha and Luna of the Renegade Pack. Amelia was my mom’s twin sister, and honestly, they are great people. They offered for me to come live with them permanently multiple times, but I always denied. It's not where I belong. I've never been a part of a pack and I don't think that will ever change.

"That's a drink. You're actually getting worse at lying the more you talk." "Oz." "Oscar. Your fake dead cat's name was Oscar. Ultron wanted to kill the Avengers, big difference." When they were looking at each other with angry eyes, suddenly someone tapped Rachel hard on the shoulder. "Rachie!" Rachel turned her head and was surprised to see Aunt May, her mother's sister, standing and staring at her with sparkling eyes. "You didn't tell anyone you were coming home? Oh my! “I met my father in New York. His name is… was Noah Anderson. And my real name… is Annabelle Anderson. My parents didn’t die in a car crash, and you’re not my aunt. You can’t be my aunt because my real mother is a fucking werewolf!” Aunt May gasps, recoiling. She stands up too, shaking like a leaf. “Werewolf? She just took in a little baby she had no idea about—just like Austin. I wonder if she’s even related to Sally.

Her mother's voice trembled. “You don't understand.” She looked toward something outside the frame. Claire pulled an incandescent Maurice down into his chair. “And the members of The Avengers?” I asked. “Don’t call them that!” wailed Maurice. “Tin, Dag, Marlon, Mandy, Amy and Jenny.” She gave me a sarcastic smile. “They’re all good friends of mine.” I wasn’t surprised it was them, although hearing Jenny’s name gave me an odd feeling. At least she was okay. Flossie raised her hand. I’m not sure who’s permission she was seeking, but I felt obliged to give her a nod.

After making some tea and filling each other in on the gossip around the street and work, I explained my troubles to Aunt May, who sweetly lowered my burdens with a few dials on her phone. It went quiet for a moment. I held my hands together in anxiety as I observed her face for any reaction. Apart from the angelic smile that Aunt May always wore, it was hard to tell if he had picked up. Her eyes often gleamed with energy, especially when tending to her garden which seemed to always sprout with something beautiful every time. She was bundled up in a blanket whose ends she had been sewing when I walked in. No sooner had I completely taken in all her golden beauty than her green eyes beamed wi

Aunt May was a naturally reticent person. Among everything she hated, she loathes bothering others. No one would believe that after suffering such a loss as that of her husband, she would not turn to friends and family for assistance, but instead, would depend solely on whatever she could make up for her survival.
