"Actually, if you don’t mind, Aeryn. I would love for you to join me at a meeting with all my allies. Then they get to see what our efforts have been for and why this war is so important. Maybe you can share what it’s like in the Winter Bone pack. Only if you like. I don’t, -" I laughed: "Dad, I won’t fucking break. I would love to join you." "I will show you everything else later, okay?" Aunt Kat said. She was so fucking cool. She used to cut her curls short, but she had grown them out. She still wore flower dresses, but it was her aura that was super cool. She was confident and powerful. She’s the type of woman I would love to be.

Truss nuh one buh di Alpha, feem destiny a tied tuh fi yuh" Zeke lifted her off the floor, swinging her over one broad shoulder and walking out the door. Her head hung down his back as he walked down the path to the car, but she could still see Aunt May, standing in the doorway, tears glistening in her eyes, just before the door slammed shut. ★AUNT MAY'S APARTMENT ★ ~7:00PM Maria entered the house and was greeted by the smell of pancakes. Strawberry pancakes, her favourite. She changed her shoes to her flip flops, dropped her bag on the sofa. She walked into the kitchen and saw Aunt May making the pancakes. She smiled at the sight. Seems like Aunt May didn't hear her come in. “Good evening aunt.“ She said but no response. Strange. She walked carefully towards her and found her staring at the pancake batter. She kept on continuously stirring it. Clearly her mind wasn't here anymore. Maria noticed her eyes were red, like someone that has been crying. There was still tears under her eyelids.

' Aunt May stylishly threw another jab at her brother. 'Auntie, please, not now. I'm just so happy to see you.' Sheena enveloped her in another hug. 'I'm happy to see you too.' Aunt May tightened the hug. She released Sheena and noticed the strange girl standing beside Elena. Her countenance changed into a menacing growl as she mentally tried to recall where she had seen the face before. Then she asked to be certain if her memory was correct. 'Who is she?'

Cassandra sat at her desk, staring at the computer screen filled with the latest reports on Nuovo Ordine and the increasingly uncontrollable movements of the mafia. Her heart was uneasy. She knew a big war was coming. She could feel it. The police station felt quieter than usual, as if everyone was holding their breath, waiting for something bad to happen.
