Pucking the Captain
I flinched when his shoulder brushed against mine, pulling my knees to my chest as a hot, angry tear slipped down my cheek and cut through the mud on my face.
"You paid him," I whispered, my voice cracking, completely stripped of my usual bratty defiance. "You paid him to hurt me, Jax. You played God with my body because you were terrified of losing your precious captaincy, and you let your father twist it into a career-ending injury."
"No!" Jaxson roared, the sheer, feral anguish in his voice making me jump. He closed the remaining distance between us, his chest pressing flush against my back, his face burying into the crook of my neck even though his hands were bound behind him.
