My tears mixed with the storm building around me. Then my bones began to snap. My fingers twisted, my arms elongating, my spine arching violently as something deep inside me broke free. “What—what’s happening?” I gasped, screaming through clenched teeth. Aiyana’s voice trembled but was decisive. “It’s time. The pain triggered the sealed opened. You are awakening.” I couldn’t speak anymore. I fell to the ground, shaking uncontrollably as my body transformed. The pain was unbearable, worse than death itself. Every bone, every nerve tore apart and rebuilt itself in seconds.

Before I can speak and tell him nothing is fine, the door to the office is pushed open again, this time a frazzled maid rushes through her eyes frantic as they flickered between me and the elder. “Princess Anna!!” She cried, stopping just outside the door. Pushing away from the elder I turned towards her, my heart beating wildly “What's wrong?” Her lips trembled, her eyes pooled with unshed tears, “it's the Alpha…he is Awake.”

The sun shines bright through the opening of the cave, washing away the traces of the terror, leaving her relieved to withdraw to her mundane reality.

"Anna An_ !" Wavering her hand in the air, to protect her under her lashes, she craved desperately to let her free. " Wake up ,An_ ", she muttered as she saw the battered being of Anna, was slowly fluttering her lashes. "Hazel !", Anna called out, as she saw Hazel after so many days, but her spark was stolen out when she saw the same masked man, was caging Hazel.

I lick my lip to try and feel out what's so wrong, only to find teeth sharp and long, and a sensation of fur around the edges. I wolfed. I’m a wolf, and I shake it off, shake my head to bring my sight back to clear and fuzz-free, so I can turn and see the others around me. A weird movement that’s ungraceful and dog-like, that knocks me off balance. Nearby, a smaller wolf sits and looks at its paws, as I was, yet it glows too. Blue and surreal, as though the moon has rolled down to illuminate us with her touch, and it’s eerily pretty. Something I have never seen before at an Awakening. They don’t seem to be in pain anymore, either, and I wonder if the worst has passed. None of them is crying

It sort of felt like she had always been there. After I had shifted she had woken. Explaining to me that she had waited for a long time for me. When I asked her why now. She told me it’s because my true self had been locked away. She needed me to be free. Where had she been when Alwin had tried to kill me? Blood gave us freedom. The thought sits uncomfortably. With Tala came something else. My senses had been heightened further. I could hear Elijah and Simons conversation from the bedroom, well some of it. Simon was fleeing because of me.

The awakening transformed her totally and made her utterly beautiful. As if he had been waiting for her bath to be over, Riven knocked on the door and entered, holding a glass of warm milk. He handed it to Layla and sat beside her, pulling her close to him. He still hadn't gotten used to the fact that she was awake and sitting beside him. "I will be downstairs",Annabelle whispered to her and was about to leave when Layla spoke out. "There's something I want to tell you all",she said quietly, and then looked up at Riven.
