Kade&Sera The sun had barely crested the horizon when Sera took her last look at Blackwater territory. Morning mist curled low over the dark pines, softening the edges of the place that had shaped her life in chains. The cold air stung her lungs, but she welcomed it. Outside, the first silver arrow whistled through the air, burying itself in the office doorframe, carrying a scrap of parchment written in blood. THE AWAKENING CANNOT BE STOPPED. Then the ground shook violently. The black stone cracked. A deafening roar echoed across the forest. Ancient roots burst from beneath the earth, twisting around the altar. The whispers that had guided us suddenly turned desperate. "Run..." "The Guardian has awakened..." The lake erupted upward. From its depths emerged a colossal warrior formed of living wood, stone, and moonlight. Vines coiled around his towering body, and glowing emerald eyes opened slowly beneath a crown of ancient branches. He lifted an enormous sword carved from the heart of an ancient tree.

Light surged upward. Runes flared fully for the first time in centuries. Plot Thirteen awakened. “You will work here,” Inferno said to me. “With Seraphine. With Eldric. You will recreate the bloodcraft.” Fear tried to rise. And failed. “I will,” I said. Not because I was unafraid. Because I was chosen. Far off, a bird chirped sharp and alert. And somewhere beyond the Haven’s borders, something old felt the awakening and turned its gaze toward Lake Tahoe. The war had not begun. But the foundation had.

But just as the tension peaked, the ancient creature let out a deep, rumbling growl that echoed around us. “The bloodline war begins now!” Suddenly, the runes on the altar erupted with energy. A bundle of old leather-bound papers sat behind it, hidden under layers of dust, as fear laced with pain forced my confidence. The initial blade. Has it been sketched yet? The combatant. His injuries. His final statement—Evans.

"Terra dragonsblood. Mountain clan from the Alps. Your ancestors were guardians of the high passes." The man's eyes filled with tears as something ancient and profound resonated within him. Not full awakening, his bloodline was too diluted for complete transformation, but recognition of a heritage that had been deliberately hidden from him. Throughout Pioneer Square, similar scenes were unfolding as Order operatives experienced varying degrees of awakening.
