In the morning I woke up in a state of complete and profound awkwardness, an awkwardness of state that he simply wouldn’t let me escape from. His arm barred any chance of movement away from him and feeling both ashamed and completely overcome I lay as I had woken up, which was to say I was lying on top of him.

But yeah, I was so happy to hear these things from him. He stopped twisting his pen and started to write something behind the notebook. Really? Aspen also had that habit to write random stuffs behind his notebook. He showed me what he wrote and I didn't expect what he had written. "We're getting closer and closer, awkwardness fades already." It was just a bit of a time. How could he say that? We've just had a bit of talks and moments together, nothing's too special about it, for him. But it seemed like he's interpreting every thing we do as a big issue.

Therefore, Albert carved the words as big and deep as he possibly could! The word ‘pathetic’ occupied half of Marcus’s forehead. Moreover, Albert really wrote the words terribly! It was remarkably ugly! The way that he wrote the word ‘pathetic’ was not even at the standard of a primary school student! When Albert looked at the word he had already engraved on Marcus’s forehead, he laughed before he said, “Sorry, Mr. Wade. I am actually not used to carving words with a knife. It’s really ugly…”

"I think you're in denial." I should have ended the conversation right there. Instead, I pulled out the chair beside the window and sat down. She looked entirely too pleased with herself. "You know what's funny?" she asked. "I'm sure you're about to tell me." "I used to think you were terrifying." "You should probably keep thinking that." "I did." She tilted her head slightly. "Until tonight." That made me pause. "What changed?" "I realized you're just... awkward." I blinked. "Awkward." She nodded without the slightest trace of fear. "You walk around like the whole world should move when you tell it to, but the second someone talks to you normally, it's like you forget how conversations work

The movie couldn’t compete with this level of awkward. Ava’s tapping had turned frantic now, her fingers stumbling over the keyboard as she fumbled to catch up. Leo remained silent, eyes fixed on the papers in front of him, seemingly unfazed by her struggle. The air between them was thick with tension, and I couldn’t help but shift uncomfortably on the couch. This wasn’t going to end well. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of awkward clicks, Ava muttered, “I think I found it... the Q2 forecast?”

Awkward was a new one and there was no way I could get used to this fast enough to stop my skin from crawling or my body from squirming because of it. It was just what I was going through at that moment. I have tried so hard to shrug it off as nothing and to calm my nerves but how could I be calm when I was the center of attraction to…lemme count…okay, two pairs of eyes? How could I be calm when I could see the questions in their eyes and now they itched to ask?

I spent all morning trying to find the right words to say to her, so things aren’t awkward between us, but that is exactly what it is right now. Awkward. “Hey” I said softly. As I moved closer to her. “Hey” she whispers, I am not sure I would have even heard it if I didn’t have my werewolf hearing. I can see how tense her body is, and I know I am making her uncomfortable. I hate that. I look her body up and down. I can’t help but notice how sexy she is and think about how bad I want her.

Ava’s POV By the time the clock on my laptop hit 2:13 a.m., I was still writing. Not revising. Not editing. Just writing. The words poured out like they’d been waiting — pressed under my ribs for too long, finally clawing their way free. Every click of the keys felt like tearing something open, but I couldn’t stop. Not yet. > They call me reckless. Maybe I am. But there’s a difference between breaking rules and breaking yourself to fit them.

“I think that came out wrong. I meant to be self-deprecating about my entitlement, not flirty.” “Yeah,” I say. “I figured, I.. um -“ I put my hand to my forehead. “Shit,” I say, my blush deepening. I’m making an already awkward moment infinitely more awkward. “I don’t know why I’m struggling so hard for words today. Sign me up for that brain transplant.” “It’s okay,” Kadeem says, fingers still gripping the edge of the pool. “You don’t have to be self-conscious with me. It’s nice to see you feeling lighter today.”

I could tell he was skeptical, so I kept it short yet to the point. “So they tell me, but I have yet to do or learn anything magical.” He grinned. “So you really do go here.” “Yup.” “Listen, I didn’t mean to scare you off, we just don’t get many new people here.” “So I’ve heard.” “It must be overwhelming.” I laughed, “You have no idea.” We ended up talking for an hour or so, Parker was nice, charming, he made me laugh and I felt comfortable hanging out with him. Easy. As soon as the sun started to set I realized I should be getting back.
