Alpha Zac
"Isla?"
Tears carve trails down her dirty face, looking at me with disbelief, "Zac?"
I scoop her up bridal style, cradling her body to my chest, inhaling her scent. The tiny zaps of electricity I thought I'd never feel again dance across my skin as I pull her closer. My eyes rake over her, scabs in the form of symbols carved into her chest, arms, and legs. My chest constricts at the sight of her; varying degrees of silver burns are around her wrists and ankles, and small cuts and bruises color her dull skin. I don't let the thoughts of what she's been through steal the happiness of having her back in my hold.
