I accidentally wear the gown Miles Graham prepared for his childhood sweetheart. To my horror, he forces me to take it off in public. Je ne peux pas la laisser toute seule. » Sur ces mots, il m'a raccroché au nez, me laissant m'effondrer seule sur le lit froid de l'hôpital. Après un long moment, j'ai essuyé mes larmes et a appelé le numéro de Louis Dulac, un grand rival de mon mari. « Épouse-moi et je t'apporterai toute la famille Dubois en dot. Tout ce que je te demande est de faire tomber Joseph Fouquet. Es-tu partant ? »

Ma vie était toute tracée. Je savais que j’hériterais de la meute, mais je ne savais pas qu’un mariage arrangé faisait partie des devoirs de l’Alpha. Donc, évidemment, je n’aimais pas la fille que mes parents avaient choisie, même si c’était ma compagne — belle et intelligente !Mon instinct de compagnon m’avait poussé à la revendiquer, mais mon côté rationnel me força à la rejeter après une nuit parfaite. Je n’ai réalisé mon amour pour elle que lorsque je l’ai perdue, quand elle a quitté la meute pour réaliser ses rêves. Cependant, mon amour n’était pas mort quand je l’ai revue, lors de mes fiançailles avec quelqu’un d’autre. Cette fois-ci, je ne la laisserai pas partir, même si ça voulait dire blesser une autre fille, ou même provoquer une guerre de meute. Mais elle m’avait dit que ce n’était pas possible, qu’elle aimait quelqu’un d’autre et qu’elle avait déjà eu un enfant de lui. Déçu et désespéré, je pensais l’avoir perdue pour toujours, mais… Pourquoi est-ce que son bébé me dit quelque chose ?

This book contains a few people's points of view. (POV) Which makes the book a little... let's say more dimensional. The main story is about Lilith Taylor being in the wrong place at the wrong time, although it was planned out. She witnesses some gruesome scenes done by Arthur Mikhailov but soon realizes that the one bringing this upon her is the only one who can take it away. The book is filled with mysterious characters and events to keep the reader guessing throughout. Never a too dull moment. Give it a try guys. You never know who will betray you next...
