I was already in the living room waiting for Castello in a shimmery sapphire and gold ankle length gown that was ripped up to my thigh. The most gorgeous and expensive dress I’ve ever worn. Kelsey So, the outfits for the parade were warm, and modest, but sexy? Not so much. We wore black leggings with tall black boots, a shimmering gold T-shirt with a heavy green overcoat, the lapels velour, the shoulders too big for our frames. I didn’t mind, the morning air was chilly, and being on the float didn’t hide us from the wind. I had to keep one hand on my top hat to keep it from flying off, while the other waved at all the parade watchers.

That was why Jackson said my badass warrior armor. I stood in front of the mirror and critiqued my look. The top was a black leather corset vest that looked like it was made from armor. It paired perfectly with a pair of fitted crimson pants. My hair fell over one shoulder in a loose French braid. The makeup was the best part. It was dramatic with black eyeliner, smokey eye, and maroon lipstick. All of it tied together to make a statement. That statement was that I was done being pushed around.
