Getting down to the floor, I immediately picked up the broken shards while my mind replayed what Mom had just said. My distraction gave me a cut in my hand. Mom grabbed some paper to patch me up. “W-Who’s the father?” I stared at Mom, my voice trembling. Mom’s grip on me stiffened. She said embarrassedly, “Bryan.” Emotions overwhelmed me. I pushed Mom away. Here I thought they were fooling around. The last thing I expected was a pregnancy. That explained Mom’s reaction when she saw me and Bryan in the room. She had fallen in love with Bryan as well.
