I still remember the first time I tasted a cake made by Wynn; I cried when I saw his hands covered in burns. He knew I loved the sea. However, plane tickets were exorbitant for us back then. We took a two-hour bus ride to the suburban Swan Lake Scenic Area. It wasn't the peak season for swans, so the entrance fee was reduced to half, just two dollars per person. We spent four dollars and wandered around the scenic area all day. When we got hungry, we ate bread, and when we were thirsty, we drank our own bottled water. Despite all that, I was still very happy.

Barbara couldn't help but speed up her pace while giggling. "You know what? We will pass many beautiful spots even though it's only more than 5 km. We will see many mountains, bridges over the sea, and I hope we can meet waterfalls or lakes. It is said that the lakes in this country are very beautiful. The water is turquoise." Philip smiled slightly as he helped Barbara take off her bag. Then, while Barbara sat holding out the map, he remained standing, studying her face as he rested his chin on two stacks of bags.

My breathing was agitated. -Let's get in the water! -suggested Barbie, being the first one to go into the lake. Clara followed her, so I did too. The water was freezing cold, I advanced until it reached my chest. I looked back, there were the wolves, looking at us. I met one of them, the one in the labyrinth. But they wouldn't get in here. Or so I hope. -We're safe here," Clara smiled nervously. I smiled anyway, but I felt something touch my feet, some fish or something. But whatever it was was bubbling in the water, until something floated up right next to me.

"This truly is our premier location, situated right along the lakeside," the agent chimed in with enthusiasm. "During the warmer months, swans migrate in. The epitome of pure bliss and serenity." Vance guided Rebecca out onto the terrace, allowing her to admire the expansive view. The lake's damp breeze enveloped her like a refreshing embrace, carrying with it the invigorating aroma of nearby trees and freshly cut grass. She drew in a deep breath, finding the atmosphere genuinely restorative.

She was with him the first time she came here, and now she was alone. However, she wasn’t sad or disappointed. Her body and soul were ruined beyond repair… She was still calm; Silje realized that if a person was in too much pain, it could make that person tranquil. It was a gloomy winter day and too early for the park to be crowded with people. Oddly enough though, the lake was swarming with white swans. Staring at them, Silje suddenly felt something. The white swans… “…” The whiteness of them reminded her of ashes, bringing back the devastation to her heart.

I owed her now. “All right, folks. Amanda, Marc, Luke… fix up this place! Make it look nice for, uh… Walda and Beatrice!” I ordered. Luke rolled his eyes. “What, you want us to make a pond too? For those two fellas?” He smirked, pointing at the two swans. “Yeah, actually, you can do that!” Walda interrupted before I could respond. “They need a place to swim and play, but don’t worry I’ll make an enchanted, self-cleaning lake for them!”

The place was majestic like it was right out of a dream or better yet a fae land. The rare species of flowers were in full bloom and you could see as rare kinds of butterflies were wandering the Garden. But it wasn't the greenery that was the source of the magnificent sight in front of her. It was the crystal-clear, middle-sized lake. Unlike any other rich Family, they didn't have koi fish in their man-made lake. Instead, they had supercilious swans. Not one kind. They had different kinds of swans: Mute Swan, Tundra Swan, and Trumpeter Swan.

Bart replied with a joke. Lauren rolled her eyes. "Okay, as you say so," I replied and steered my mate in the direction of the lake. "Let's go to the lake, sweetheart. I saw swans in the water." "Where are the swans?" Lauren asked. "In the lake," I said, and we walked away, leaving my beta behind while he was busy chatting with someone on his phone. When we arrived at the lake, there was no swan, just a couple of ducks kissing each other while floating in the water, to everyone's amazement. "Wow, aren't they cute?" I commented casually and kissed Lauren's head.

“Yes, they are. I want to ask Daddy if we can have swans at our house, too.” We came closer as I said, “But our house doesn’t have a pond, darling.” Aria clasped her hands together in excitement. “Then we should ask Daddy if we can have a pond, too, and then we can have swans. I love animals.” “I can see that you do, honey,” I said, smiling. Aria led me around, and I was so fixated on admiring the swans doing their dancing and gliding on the beautiful glassy water that when Aria said, “There’s a person!” I jumped in surprise.

At this moment, the moon had appeared, quietly hidden behind the clouds, watching the group of people below. Amidst the intervening incident, the enthusiasm of Beta Henry's auspicious white swan had diminished threefold. He slowly walked to Beryl Lake, looking at the clear surface of the water shimmering under the moonlight. With the tall reeds reaching above half of his body, he couldn't see any beautiful white swans. His face immediately darkened, "Didn't you say there was a white swan?"
