The barony was a mix of vibrant reds and pure whites, stretching for miles. Archers were stationed on the balconies, and guards stood by the wide gates. It seemed like a sturdy place to take refuge while the horror passed. But even here, fear could take root. The sky remained dark, a constant reminder of Zeth's rule over half of this world. As we entered the barony, we were greeted by a crowd of frightened people. They were scrambling everywhere, trying to salvage what they could before fleeing.

Free to be with whoever she wants.” Then he tilted his head. “And she might just choose me.” I took a step forward menacingly, but before I could respond, Baron raised his hand in a mock surrender. “Easy now. You would not want to cause a scene in such a nice hotel.” He smoothened his jacket “think about what I said Andre, you had your chance and you threw it away. Now the rest of us get to try.”
