It catered to a very specific clientele—supernaturals who needed weapons that could kill other supernaturals. I parked the Harley in the alley and knocked three times on the reinforced steel door. A panel slid open, revealing a pair of suspicious eyes. “Password,” a gravelly voice demanded.

I was shocked by how many weapons and gadgets there were. This felt like I was in real-life spy kids about to go on an undercover mission. “Are you some sort of secret Agent?” I asked staring at all the cool gadgets. “Something so, these gadgets were made by a man called Brenton, he’s a very smart guy he knows his way around technology” He muttered.

When the fingers pulled a mechanism inside, blades would extend at the joints, a standard-issue military equipment. In his past life, his weapon was a pair of gauntlets, six-star level, a premium quality item, practically a semi-artifact. After donning the combat uniform, Lancelot adjusted to the new equipment quickly, stretching his fingers to ensure the gauntlets fit perfectly. "Once the sensory devices are on, Team 1 and Team 12 can enter the field," Instructor Rosen announced loudly. Upon hearing this, Lancelot grabbed the headband-like sensory device from the table and tied it around his head.

Inside, they begin pulling out weapons and equipment to arm themselves. However, this is not the type of equipment I was hoping for. There are a couple of massive restraints that are basically high-tech handcuffs that look like they were designed for a gorilla. There is a massive shock collar and an electro-wire net. And to top it off, the soldiers pull two sniper rifles from the suitcase and bandoliers of liquid-filled darts. Those are... tranquilizer guns?

“Your stuff’s in the closet. Uniforms, towels, bedding. They measured you from the hospital records. Everything should fit.” I opened the closet door. Rows of black blazers, white shirts, red ties, dark trousers—all in my exact size. The emblem on every breast pocket: the shield, the bat, the single blood-drop tear. Like the school was crying for something it already killed. Fresh towels stacked on the shelf. A pair of black boots on the floor. Even socks. Black, of course. I turned back to the box on the bed, flipped the lid. Inside: a sleek black phone, the BludHeaven logo etched into the back. No brand name, no model number—just the bat and the tear. A charger. A folded note on top.

Even though Kael’s words were a bit hurtful, I knew he meant well. If I took the positive side, Kael wanted me to survive and win against teams from other areas. I turned toward the weapon racks, where, of course, no one else was around. My hands picked up the pair of batons, which apparently had a trigger button. Crates of body armor — lightweight, bullet-resistant, custom-fitted — waited on the other. In the far corner, a small team carefully mixed chemicals that could stop a heart without leaving obvious traces. Everything here served a purpose.

Felix reasoned. "Alright, let's check your clothes out to see if it's really true that a chip is on it." Augustus walked to the other side of his Lab-home where a box was situated. He pulled the lid of the box open and produced a baton-like device. When Lucian and Felix gave him a puzzled look, Augustus laughed. "This is a sensor and I would use it to detect if any device is living rent-free in your clothes." There, he started laughing like a lunatic.

The old man nodded. He didn’t like the plan, but he understood it. “Very well. Good luck. And try not to die.” Hayward chuckled. “I’m pretty good at that, I’d say.” He started rifling through his bags again until he found what he was after: inconspicuous weapons and armor. Hayward put on a shirt that looked like it was merely a little stiff but actually had thin metal plates concealed in the fabric. He then concealed a pair of bracers and knives under his sleeves. If he was very lucky, he wouldn’t need any of it.
