I heard a gunshot, and the man fell right next to me as blood slowly spread across his chest. Stefan was standing at the door, placing his gun back into its holster. His expression was cold when he took off his coat and flung it at me. "Places like these are dirty." It was only later that I found out he had busted the casino, and that I had been taken as a trophy for his victory. Stefan told me that he fell in love with me at first sight because of my eyes. I believed him and thanked God for blessing me with my eyes. However, I later realized they were also a curse because I had to watch him turn away from me, time after time, through them.

‘Don’t look like that, I hate it when you look like that. “Uno… please help me.” I really hate her eyes. I hate them more when she’s pleading in tears. “Don’t move or I’ll shoot the girl!” He tightened his grip around her. I glared at this dumb fool. “Go on.” He was shocked. Her face looked betrayed. In that split second, I moved my gun quickly. “Let’s see if you can kill her faster than I will kill you.” Then I pulled the trigger. He fell backwards with a shot in the center of his forehead. She flinched at the deafening gunshot and the blood scattering cascaded down her face with the rain and her tears.

He was given two choices—death and a life worse than death; he chose the former. Hazel and the others' faces turned even paler upon that realization. Regret alone wasn't the worst part of the toxic concoction of it all. The worst part was that they had finally woken up to reality, but it was too late. They wanted to make things right, but the person they needed to make it up to wasn't there anymore. That was what truly hurt. "Go… Hurry… If you wait any longer, it'll be too late!" Suddenly, urgent shouts came from outside the villa, along with the rumble of moving trucks passing by.

I said. He looked at me, calm as ever. “What?” I stepped closer, my voice tightening. “I saw you get shot.” The room grew quieter. Not completely silent but quiet enough that every breath felt louder than it should. “It wasn’t just a shot,” I continued. “Chelsea aimed straight at your chest. Your heart.” I paused, my jaw clenching. “There’s no surviving that.” Maya shifted uneasily. Clarissa glanced between us. Even Cathy looked more alert now.

I wished I hadn't loved, I wished we never met, I wished I never gave out my heart, but I guessed it would be his to hold forever, even though he doesn't think about me. My broken heart was still beating, though faintly, until two gunshots were fired at me, I felt the heat drive through my chest, and my body already cold, died, my heart beat started seizing it's engine, but before it could lock, more gunshots were fired and then, it went all cold and my heart beat locked when It seemed like my body was being taken to heaven. Or was hell actually above?

Samantha said, sounding perfectly calm, "my team-building event just ended. I’m on my way now. Wait another half hour. I’ll be there soon." She was already three hours late, and even now, she was still lying. There was a thunderstorm raging around me, but on her end of the line, it was completely quiet. I wiped the rain from my face and let out a cold laugh. "Are you really on your way here, Samantha, or are you still in some hotel bed?" She went silent. For a long moment, she stammered without managing to form a proper answer. "The engagement party is over," I added. "What's the point of showing up now? Stay where you are and keep having fun with your boy toy. I'm not in the mood to listen

"It's not too late. Drop the gun. We can—" "Too late?" He lunged closer, face inches from mine now, breath hot and sour with desperation and whiskey. "It's all too late! You ruined me! Say goodbye, Seraphine. For old times' sake." His finger tightened on the trigger. The shot fired—deafening, world-shattering.

“Get in.” I slide into the passenger seat. He follows, slamming the door shut like he’s afraid of what might get in…or what might come out of him if he doesn’t. I turn to him. “Tell me the truth. Do you have a heart problem?” He shakes his head. “Then what is it?” My hands curl into fists. “Because you don’t get to scare me like that and say nothing.” He exhales slowly. “Someone shot me.” I blink. “What?”

Bennet's Pov When I saw the gun, it was too late to dodge. Times seemed to pause as I stood unmoving watching the gun aimed at me. I watched as he pulled the trigger and the muzzle flashed, the bullet aimed for my heart. This was it. This is the end of it for me, and I didn't even get the chance to hear Lucas say how he truly felt about me yet. The end of everything I never had the chance to have with Lucas.
