Bad Boy Roommate
When we were safely past the highway, I peeked out the window and realized: it was just an old lady, walking home from somewhere in her long white cardigan.
I groaned, burying my face in my hands. “I…we screamed at an old lady.”
Taranis started laughing, deep and loud, until he was nearly crying. “Hazelnut! This is…hilarious. We just—oh my God—we just screamed at an old woman!”
I couldn’t help it. Laughter bubbled up, forcing out the last of my lingering panic. “I can’t believe we…we almost died over…that?”
“I can’t believe we both screamed like idiots,” he said, still chuckling. “Honestly, I thought I was going to die of fear.”
