"Tie him up and hang him on the reef. Let the Cult come and see what happens when they provoke Shallow Bay."
Captain White led people to drag the priest ashore.
The battlefield gradually quieted. Only wreckage, bodies, and the occasional groan drifted over the sea.
Captain White walked to my side, covered in blood. I did not know whether it was his or the enemy's.
Panting, he asked, "Lord... did we win?"
I looked toward the black dots disappearing at the horizon. They were the Cult's remaining small boats, fleeing without looking back.
"We won."
The survivors of Shallow Bay emerged from their shelters and looked at the scarred battlefield. First came silence, then a cheer that shook the sky.
