Breaking Her at Thanksgiving

Breaking Her at Thanksgiving

Solène’s smile never faded as she collected them, her eyes dropping to the drawing Katie had made. “What is this?” She asked gently, taking the drawings—bright colors, uneven shapes, familiar figures. “I’m still learning to draw people.” Katie said, scooting to Solene’s side. Then, one by one, she pointed at the figures on the paper Solene held on top. “This is Grandma, this is you, this is Mommy, and this is Uncle Atlas!” She said, proud of herself. Solène raised a brow. “That’s good. You almost got our faces right.” She laughed.

Marie and Francesca said in time as all six of them hurried back into the hallway with a large piece of paper. On it was a childish drawing of some people outside a house amongst trees and underneath a great big blue sky with white fluffy clouds, birds and a yellow shining sun. "That's Mommy and that's Daddy," Cato announced proudly pointing at the two taller figures. "I drew Daddy and Mathias drew Mommy but we could remember how tall you were so we drew you the same but actually..." he said looking between us. "I don't think that's right." I let out a slight laugh as a tear ran down my face.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. There were parts the the feeling became very intense and I had to put it down. Then, once I was ready, I picked it back up and couldn’t put it down until it was finished. The story played in my head, predicting what might happen next, and I found it hard to sleep. TY

This is one of the most riveting books I have had the pleasure to read. Even though I haven’t slept in 2 days I couldn’t put it down and finished reading it over the past 6 hours. While it is a story of wars, rape, beatings and constant struggles reading it has allowed me to find peace. Thanks 💕

Like my dad, she too didn't want me. The sky was so blue; it was as though the sea was above me. I never again saw the clear blue sky that day, for neither did my aunt want me. **Chapter 1** Saturday Evening "I'm forever amazed at how dogs are easily attached to you." Sara came to see me petting one of the dogs. I smiled as it started to lick my hands from its cage. "Rottweilers are the most dangerous and aggressive dogs, and yet you manage to tame this new and wild one with little human interaction within the moment you've gotten here," said Sara, still in wonder, watching me from behind.

Obsessed (Book #12 in the Vampire Journals)

Obsessed (Book #12 in the Vampire Journals)

She spotted a drawing in the mud. She stepped back to survey the image more clearly. Her heart fell as she recognized a drawing of Sage’s estate on the Hudson river. The picture was so intricately drawn it couldn’t have been made by Sage—he was close to death when Scarlet had left him. There was no way he could have had the strength to draw this picture. Scarlet realized that someone else had been on the island. Someone else had drawn this picture, someone who knew what the estate looked like in finite detail. There was only one person who fit that description.
