After a few minutes, we turned down another path that led to the beach where a pathway lined with resort employees dressed in white greeted us.
“Mr. Craft, we’d like to welcome you and Ms. Neely to our Bungalow dinner. Please, follow me.”
Kelsey smiled brightly and took my arm, her eyes taking in the scenery on along the beach. Plants and lighting filled a wooded deck along the beach, a personal dock off to the side where the table was set with white linens and candles. “Mack, this is beautiful,” Kelsey whispered, squeezing my arm. “Am I missing something?”
Pulling out her chair, I said, “Do you know what happened a year ago today?”
