BOUND TO THE BEAST
I type them quickly, praying my mother's old codes still work.
The lock clicks.
Green light.
"We're in," I breathe.
We slip inside. The greenhouse is humid, warm, filled with exotic plants. Some I recognize. Most I don't.
"Secure section is in the back," Isabella leads the way.
We wind through rows of vegetation. Beautiful and deadly. I recognize nightshade, hemlock, oleander. Viktor's poison garden.
The secure section is behind a glass wall. Another keypad, plus the biometric scanner.
Isabella presses the silicon fingerprint to the scanner. I type in a secondary code from the USB.
