Energy pulsed and wavered into the space between us. “I will find your sister and see if she is worth saving,” I let him know. Beckham convulsed and then suddenly went still. The darkness retreated dragging with it a phantom of dim dark shapeless light, as it returned to my feet and deposited it there, immobile. I turned to Wyatt, “The first installment of our vow,” I said. The Beast growled in approval from within the confines of Wyatt’s body, his skin bristled as he pushed back with the urge to shift.

*Canaan* The moment Bexley disappears behind me, I turn and rush down the hallway as quickly as I can. When I turn the corner, I see one of my warriors lying in a pool of his own blood with Garth stalking toward him, his rifle still smoking. A roar tears through my body. Even though I can’t shift, that won’t stop me from launching myself at the bastard. He doesn’t get his weapon up in time, so when I crash into him, I crush it against his body and rip into his shoulders with my gnarled teeth.

Electricity washed over my body again and again, pushing me hard to the sea of ecstasy. Damp liquid dripped down to the floor through my inner thigh, cooled by the air. Clenching my legs together, I was afraid of acknowledging how lascivious the scene might look. Sensing my change, Xavier nipped at my earlobe, palms squeezing my breasts to arouse me more. “Do you know how a wolf fucks?” He husked with a chuckle. I lowered my eyes, shaking my head dumbly and quietly. Moans escaping from my shutting mouth as his stroke became slower but harder.

Each limb looks sculpted for violence. Its fur is slick, dark, and matted from blood and storm. Its breath steams in the cold air. Plumes spiral around its snout. Its eyes, blazing gold. My heart stops. God… I just fell into another creature’s war. All of them, beasts of the moon. Beasts of the night. Oh no!

I commented. “It’s supposed to be terrifying, by the way, Xander said he’s off to inform June that he is a beast that walks on two legs, he said he’s tired of pretending and limiting himself to what humans can do when he can always show her how sweet beasts can be,” Ria informed. “That’s cringy as fuck, I can’t believe that a day like this would come and Xander would be simp over a lady, a human at that.” Grace shook her head while smiling at how smitten her brother was by a very small human.

The memory of the alleyway and the beasts remained a haunting presence over the next few hours: becoming an obsession. I found myself scouring the book for any scrap of information I could find. The pages spoke of the beasts' honor, of a bond between them and their human mates that was sacred and unbreakable. Though it was all mythology, I couldn’t help but wonder about it. I hadn’t believed in the beasts, and now, I couldn’t deny their existence. So, who's to say the kind of connection the book spoke of wasn’t real, too.

Chapter 141 – The Beast Arrives Diana’s POV The chains burned my wrists. My skin was raw where the silver touched me. My body was weak, shaking, but my eyes never closed. The storm outside grew louder. Thunder rolled across the sky, closer, stronger. And then—BOOM! The grand doors of the hall shattered, splinters flying, smoke rushing in. My breath caught. My heart stopped for a second. Xander. He walked through the broken doorway, his eyes glowing red, his chest rising and falling like a beast ready to kill. Steam rolled off his body, his aura filling every inch of the room like a storm.

"So, how about you join me for a story? This one's got some... interesting parts." The Beast raised an eyebrow, his deep voice rumbling like distant thunder. "Interesting how?" He leaned forward, his curiosity piqued. Belle had a way of drawing him out, making him feel less like a beast and more like a man. She flipped to a chapter she'd bookmarked, one that described a couple lost in the throes of intense attraction. The words on the page painted vivid pictures: lovers entwined in a moonlit room, their breaths mingling, hands exploring with eager tenderness. It was steamy, full of building heat and whispered promises, but far from anything harmful just pure, electric chemistry.
