The first wolf was being carried toward the original site by who they were becoming. Who was being carried. I looked at Damien. “The becoming,” I said. “What does it feel like from the Alpha side. “No pressure, then.” Corvin arched a brow. “You’re already under it. You just keep pretending you’re not.” Silence stretched between us, heavy with things I didn’t want named. “What happens,” I asked finally, “if the Alpha rejects the bond?” Corvin didn’t answer right away. He stared into his mug, jaw tightening. “Then the fire looks elsewhere,” he said. “And gods help anyone standing in its path.” My wolf snarled uneasily. I stood, heart pounding. “You’re saying she’s dangerous.”

“Wow, I can’t believe you are an Alpha now. That must be awesome.” Beta Jesse says to me and I know in the eyes of all the Betas this is something they have never seen before and can only dream about. “I wouldn’t say its awesome. I am so used to my roll as Beta that I don’t know if I can ever allow myself to be an Alpha.” I tell him as we walk around the ground together securing the border. Beta Jesse then chuckled before he said, “Alpha Shawn, an Alpha is the same thing as a Beta but just one step higher. You still can train your warriors and lead them into battle. You’re just not the second man anymore but the first man in charge.”

“But you can only be an Alpha if you want those powers activated.” I frowned and glanced at him as he drove. “You mean the power lies dormant unless you become Alpha?” I asked in awe. He nodded. “Being Alpha is not just about ruling over other werewolves, the moment you assume that position, it changes you, your strength, your mind, your body, your power, how your senses work.” He stated. “Do you know what changes awaits you before you become Alpha?” I asked. “No, I find out gradually along the way, some days I just wake and something just clicks in my brain telling me I can do something different, sometimes, it’s by accident,”

I cleared my throat, casually moving my keg away. “Fine, this is the thing. I'm the new Alpha of this pack. I was born and raised to be. My beast is born to it. Because of you, the rules changed. The one that catches you and brings you back will get that title. I didn’t even want to attend this year!” “What is Alpha?” “Ehm, well, it’s our highest leader. The one leading our pack, in your world, he would be some kind of spiritual king, I think.”

"You're not going to tell Mom and Dad about this, okay? Cause if you do, it would be easy to make you disappear. It's gonna be our little secret." In my terrified state, I managed to nod, fighting tears. Everything hurt and I wanted to go home and forget this had ever happened. "Atta boy. Now, there's some stuff we've gotta tell you." He pulled over one of the old crates we liked to sit on. "Do you know why he bit you?" I shook my head. "He's our alpha. Our leader. Alphas have the power to turn humans. The rest of us are betas, and you are too, now."

The pack had a new Alpha. And the world would never be the same.

At the restaurant alpha made his way to the bar, as a werewolf he could probably be able to drink the bar dry and still seem sober. From what mum told me is once you get your wolf, your body changes alcohol has near to no effect on you pretty much the same as drugs, you feel a little warm but that's it. Mum said alcohol and drugs only settle the nerves and keeps you calm. But other than that nothing, in my opinion if I ever wanted to actually experience alcohol i had to have some before my 18th birthday. And as if to read my mind Sophie ask alpha 'can Vee and I have something to drink too?' Ehile walking over to him.

“The Alpha is dead.” The book in my hand dropped to the floor.

He did not know how special that was, it was his duty to do so. Matthew kept thinking and realized he had been a future gamma for the past couple of years. What else would he do besides be apart from the Alpha's top officials? Matthew was going to accept the position. Matt looks back up at the Alpha, “Alpha, I would be honored to become your beta. Thank you for the offer and I gladly accept.” Nicolas smiled from ear to ear, he had finally found his new beta, now they needed a gamma.
